1.0 out of 5 stars We waited 26 years for THIS?, May 22 2004
I have now lost all respect for Georgy boy. IV, V and VI were great on they're own, why mess with that? As my father allways said, if it aint broke don't fix it.(watching the "enhanced" versions, i wanted to break somethin, thats for sure).
looks as though the "special" olympic effects were done in a weekend.
There can be only one reason for the way in which Lucas has handled this, the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR, and for that he has bastardised one the greatest trilogies of all time.
I refused to buy the revamped versions on VHS, waiting and waiting, saying "I'll wait till the originals came out on DVD - and now I get THIS? Don't plunk down your hard earned 50 bucks for this pile of CRAP. May George Lucas never make a good movie again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice but who are these guys?, Nov 12 2003
The DVD was very interesting but for one glaring problem. The creator fails most of time to tell the viewer whos speaking in the interviews. For the Jimi fan who doesn't know everyone that Jimi interacted w/ by face, this is very frustrating. Other than that it had some nice clean footage.

I had much more fun watching the Jimi Hendrix Story DVD...BR>Even though it is presented in Mono.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing, Nov 12 2003
This review is from: Blues & Roots (Audio CD)
I was pleasantly surprised by this album. I've allways liked Mingus, but sometimes his style of play, while skillfull, is sometimes out of rythem, making it difficult to follow.
This cd floored me, I've had it for about a month now and must've listened to it 20 times.
My co-workers are wishing i'd play something else though! Just can't get enough!

4.0 out of 5 stars Why not in Stereo, Sep 11 2002
At least? I thought the documentery was phenominal - but was a bit disapointed when I found that even the dvd version was in Mono format. I thought maybe I got a bum dvd or some other cruel joke was being played, but true, it says on the back that it was released in the US in MONO. WHY???
I loved it anyway, expecially the opening where Jimi plays a 12 string...gave me chills...absolutely awesome!!
