Yet another hit in a great series of albums! Music featured on these cd's are full of emotion, every emotion, all over the scale emotions and the beats are never ending! I am a big fan of the Pure Moods series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome illustrations!, Nov. 16 2003
This review is from: The Witches Tarot (Cards)
Awesome-awesome-awesome illustrations! The deck has full, life-like illustrations that extend all the way to the edge of each card, unlike some decks. Illustrations are not 'cartoonie' like the Tarot of the Witches, which are gruesome.
The only possible down-fall of this deck, is that you should read the companion book. The deck is based on Quaballa(a Jewish mixed with Wiccan tradition), and if you were like me and knew nothing of it, then you will have to read the companion book. The illustrations are based on the Quabala system and the spheres in the Tree of Life(Major Arcana only).
After reading the book, the cards are more easily understood. Plus the author states once the cards start giving off another meaning other than what is in the book, to throw the book out (not literally of course), which I applaud.
Some cards which are different in this deck would be: Seeker (traditionally the Hermit), High Priest (traditionally the Hierophant), Horned One (traditionally the The Devil).

Tarot in Ten Minutes
Tarot in Ten Minutes

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, easily understood, hands on!, Nov. 16 2003
This review is from: Tarot in Ten Minutes (Paperback)
This is a VERY fun book, and litterally, you start reading the tarot and asking questions about your life in ten minutes. Great as a workbook when newly introduced to the tarot, and experienced alike. The book uses the traditional Waite tarot, but it is usable with any deck, as I use the Witches Tarot. Some of the cards are different, but the book is still very easily understood.
Tarot in Ten Minutes explains many different spreads, and you don't just read about them, you use them as soon as you are introduced to each one. How very fun!
Again, a great book for an introduction to the tarot, but would reccommend reading more than just this book, because tarot is all about intuition, which this books mentions nothing about. Once a card starts saying something other than what the books say to you, it's time to throw out the books(not litterally of course)!

1.0 out of 5 stars OMG how horrible!, Nov. 16 2003
This review is from: Tarot Spells (Paperback)
OMG where to start with the bull-crap of this book!
The one thing I noticed right away that got old real fast, was the author was constantly referring to 'the spells in this book'. How annoying! Next, there was a very brief, three paragraph NOTE on ethics. Ethics are a very big issue and needs more than three paragraphs to explain properly. There is this small issue of messing with free will, that will return to the spell caster times three...I wouldn't want to be that person!
Then I read that the author has made these spells 'as possitive as possible' with out using any of the 'bad' cards in the tarot and then goes on to list an example...such as the Death card. What a load of bull-sh**! The author is obviously not very educated in the tarot, and sounds like a teen-ager lookin to get rich, quick, wrote this book. The Death card is not a negative card! It represents change, choices to be made, illness at the most but never litterally death!
Then the author goes on to how these spells 'must' be done. There has to be this rigid spell casting layout with candles, the cards, and the book. Oye.
The author fails to encourage readers at any point in the book to make their own spells. Not only does that make the spell more effective, it personallizes it. The feeling I get from this is that these spells must be performed from this book or they may not work.
A very bad book to start out with tarot. Maybe those who are more experienced in spell crafting and have knowledge of ethics and how to personalize the spells for themselves would this book be of any help. But then, if they are that educated, then they would not need this book at all.
A very dissapointing waste of paper, ink, and time this book is. One of the worst, in my opinion, that Llewellyn has published(copyrighted in 1990, so that may explain the lack of ethic explaining).
If you are curious about the content of this book, for goodness sake, buy it used and don't waste your money on a 'new' copy. It is just not worth it.

Tarot Made Easy
Tarot Made Easy

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting twist, Nov. 14 2003
This review is from: Tarot Made Easy (Paperback)
A very interesting and different way of interpreting cards in a spread. Describes how you would read a card if it is in a spread for money, relationships, home life, and a whole lot more. A different meaning for every divinary position. Although this could get a little confusing at first, and hard to understand until you get past the first chapter. It causes one to have to hit the book for every divinary meaning. It's good to start with, although the basis of Tarot is to use your intuition, not a meaning in a book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful, Guiding, and Informative, Nov. 27 2002
This review is from: Practical Pagan (Paperback)
Contrary to some of the the reviews I have seen for this book, I picked it up at the local Borders shop and could not get my nose out of it for two hours before I decided to take it home with me. Filled with pratical advice on what goes on and what does not in covens, how to find other pagans in your local area, how and where to find the tools you need. I found it very helpful and an interesting read. Great for the beginning praticioner or someone exploring a pagan path.
I would also recommend buying The Idiots Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft.
