5.0 out of 5 stars A movie I grew up with, Feb. 3 2004
This review is from: Three Wishes for Cinderella (DVD)
When I saw this movie on dvd made for the us I was thrilled to be able to show it to my family. I used to love this film and till this day I still do just as much as I did then. The dvd version is not as good as most dvd's out there since no cleaning or color enhancement have been used. Plus the subtitles have been very poorly translated into english. Most of the words are dispelled or don't add up. Overall the dvd is worth it just for the fact it has retained its original language and beautyful music.

3.0 out of 5 stars Romance or fatal attraction?, Jan. 28 2004
I saw this movie for the first time when i was about 15 I loved it then thinking it was a great romantic story. However watching it now, i can't help but think of richard's character as a stalker in time. When my husband pointed out how creepy this guy really comes off I couldn't help but laugh at how true that statement really was. First of this guys becomes obsessed with a picture of a woman he doesn't know. Then he travels back in time to follow her around. Not to mention he makes an attempt to ask her out at 6am in the morning. Even when she tries to turn his offer down he refuses to take no for an answer which makes me wonder what would he do if she didn't share his feelings...All in all it ends in such a sad way where one should feel sorry for the poor guy but really he just acts pityful. One could look at the story as part of destiny and just admire the beautiful couple but other than that it really could almost be compared to fatal attraction, the crush or fear. It's kind of funny looking at it that way I at least can't take this film seriously anymore :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not nearly as good as the swan princess, Nov. 21 2003
This review is from: Barbie of Swan Lake [Import] (DVD)
Even though my daughters enjoy this movie it still doesn't compare to the original movie the Swan Princess.
Barbie of Swan lake has its own uniqueness when it comes to a story line. Its not a bad movie in itself and it is in some way educational when it comes to the different ballets dances. The extra features on the dvd about the Star consolations are a lot of fun. All in all the dvd is worth giving a try but still an aquired taste.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite disney dvd so far, Oct. 8 2003
This DVD probably has the most special features and options that have been released so far. It has so many picture galleries and extras to keep you and your kids busy for hours. The widescreen adds so much more to the movie than the old versions ever could. Aside from the excellent restorations of colors , Sleeping beauty has come back to life in a way words can't describe. Plus, watching it in spanish or french along with closed captions is another entirely new movie experience. This Disney DVD is my favorite so far!

3.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable fairytale, Oct. 8 2003
Despite the misplaced legends or folklores during some of this movie's storyline I thought this film to be enjoyable enough to own.
Overall it was an enchanting tale the kids adore. The romantic remake of romeo & juliet with fairies and leprechauns was done very well in my opinion. The only out of place character however would be the banshie ,who should have been called something different since her role doesn't at all fit the description. Since a Banshie is normally a tormented soul with a wailing cry i'd say woopie goldberg's character was far too easy going. There were a few other plotlines that were a bit mismatched with old folklores, other than that the movie is worth a try for any fairy tale lover or romantic.

2.0 out of 5 stars A failed attempt of a fairy tale, Oct. 1 2003
We got a hold of this DVD from the library and I'm glad to say we didn't buy it. The storyline is as confusing as the six foot dwarf who appears in the movie. Even though the costumes or scenery may be beautyful the rest of the film is poorly layed out. As far as sticking to the original brothers grimm fairy tale the movie leaves out the basic backgroud. Instead it has a lot of new and ridiculous characters who have nothing to do with Snow white. Some may find it interessting but for myself who prefers the brothers grimms tales the way they were intended, this film was a dissapointment. And when the prince was turned into a bear I had to laugh at the poor attempt of the directors, who appeared to try adding a part of the brothers grimms snow white and rose red which is a different tale all together. All in all the acting by Kristen was unsatisfactory. It would have been a better performance had she left out lines like "Why?" or "How? I don't understand" during the most dramatic scenes. If she had used more emotion perhaps her script would have worked but as it was, Snow white's personality was made out to be , not only naive but bubble headed beyond discription. the only redeeming character was miranda richards who as always gave an excellent performance.
Children may find amusment in this movie but if you are looking for a decent fairy tale this DVD is a bad choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing conclusion, Aug. 6 2003
Reading some of the reviews about this book, i noticed some disliked darcy as a main character because of her obsession with wealth. I on the other hand saw it from a different angle. To be it seemed that Darcy loved Trevor from the beginning before she even knew who he was. The attraction was there from the start. Later on she realized that love was the only thing she wanted compared to what she craved before. I enoyed this book as much as the previous two if not more. This book adds so much more when revealing further updates about Brenna and Jude. This trilogy touched my heart unlike any other book I've ever read because each story has a moral to it. All these books are truly enchanting! Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars A story that had me hooked from the start, July 19 2003
When I first started reading this book I knew I had to have the other two also. I couldn't put it down after I got it. The storyline is beautiful not only because its very discriptive, but most of all because it taught me alot about learning to love yourself before being able to love anyone else. Jude is one of those people who start out insecure with themselfes.
As the book goes on she slowly learns more about who she is and what she wants out of life. This tale truly touched my heart unlike any other story I've ever read before. The other books are equally as wonderful. Each book adds to the others another piece to the puzzle.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very exciting thriller, May 23 2003
This dvd is very well remastered with extra features as well. It includes the original theatrical trailor, closed caption and an additional french language option.
The actors in this film do a marvelous job, with ernie hudson as solomon as the true hero in my opinion. He not only plays his role excellently but he also truly has the most love for the family when clare bartell's husband seems to play a rather wimpy man who fails to protect his own family and ironicially is the slowest at grasping the facts of the real danger. In any case this movie is very exciting, with rebecca de mornay as the perfect vengful nanny.

3.0 out of 5 stars A humorous film, May 15 2003
This review is from: Clueless (Widescreen) (DVD)
This is an enjoyable film with a humorous script. If you've seen Emma this movie has the same storyline except its with a modern valley girl setting.
