The Sixth Sense, Mar 12 2004
The Sixth Sense: Secrets from Beyond By: David Benjamin Reviewed by: P.Shah Period:1 Cole had powers that no one could unserstand. Well, only three people knew about his mysterious powers. His mom, a really good friend that is an investigator, and a doctor but none of them knew how he got these powers. He could see dead people! But one day, Cole was staying over at his best friend's house, Jason. In the middle of the night, Cole wakes up to see Jason's parents searchoing the house for something. Then while eavesdropping, Cole found out that Jason's brother Ted was missing. Cole got up and he noticed a folded up note on Jason's keyboard. It said that Ted would be okay and he told Jason not to worry. He just needed some time alone. Jason's paretns looked everywhere for him and they still couldn't find him. Then with some smart investigations, Cole and Jason found their brother. He was with other runaways and other gang members. But on the way Cole keeps on bumping into a dead man that says everything is his fault. Jason and Cole try to convince Ted to come back hom but he doesn't listen so they call the police and Ted comes back. All of the other gang members were arrested. I liked this book because many parts of this book where scary because you would never know where Ted would be in the whole world. And it is so interesting to see what kind of dead people Cole bumps into. My favorite part of the book is when Cole finds out that Ted's best friend was really dead but since Cole sees dead people he just thought that Eddie (Ted's friend) was normal and alive. But even Eddie didn't know he was dead!

Williwaw!, Mar 5 2004
Williwaw! By: Tom Bodett Reviewed by: Parth Shah Period: 1 If you and your younger sister had the whole house to yourselves, would you remember what your parents said not to do? That was the case for Ivan and September because their dad who was a fisherman was delayed at sea. He told the children to not do two things. To not hook up any video games to the radio batteries. Or to not go near the bay. Obviously, kids don't listen to their parents when they aren't home, and Ivan decided to hook up his video games. And of course when you don't listen bad consequences can happen, and Ivan ended up breaking the shortwave radios, which was the one link to the outside world from Alaska. Ivan and his sister had to quickly repair the radios before their father came home otherwise he will be mad! That only meant one thing. They have to sneak back and forth on a little tiny boat across the Bag Bay.So Ivan and September waited a day or two until the skies were clear. But autumn is an unpredictable season and they would soon find out that heading their way is the most violent storm: a williwaw! I liked this book because it is interesting to find out if Ivan and his sister make it in time to fix the radio before their father comes back. I also like it when they had to find out a way to survive the storm. There is so much action and adventure and homour to this book. I didn't like this story that much because there were many boring parts of this book. For instance, the storm and the part when he hooks up the video games all go by fast. My favorite part of this book is when Ivan and his siter find out that they are home by themsleves and it is cool to see what they do. I like this part because it was very funny. I also like the parts when Ivan and his sister are adventurous and the story is full of action!

The Ghost Behind the Wall, Feb 27 2004
The Ghost Behind the Wall By: Melvin Burgess Reviewed by: P. Shah Period: 1 How would you react if you heard screams and whispers in the air conditioning ducts? David, a twelve year old kid that lives with his father in Mahogany Villas,(an apartment)gets the experience of his life! After school, on a tuesday, David felt like he was bored. When he looked at the ducts he felt as if a voice was calling him into the darkness. He was so curious that he pushed the grille and it opened into darkness. He climbed in with a flashlight and he spied on some people. He even snuck into his teacher's apartment and stole one of her boots. But he also had some frightening molments in the ducts. He came face to face with a ghost boy! One week later he was tempted to visit the ducts again. This time he played tricks on an elderly man named Mr. Alveston. David peed on the carpet, ate food from the refrigerator, and the ghost boy smashed all of Mr. Alveston's pictures. Near the end, everyone finds out that the ghost is really Mr. Alveston's memory of his childhood. I liked this book because it was funny to see what David did to each of the apartment rooms he snuck in. " He jumped down from the grille and slowly took a boot from his teacher." This is funny because two days later he returns the boot but he takes the other foot. " David peed on the floor next to the toilet." This is funny because you would never expect someone to pee on the floor right next to a toilet. I disliked this book because it wasn't as scary as i would have hoped it would have been. My favorite part of the book is when David sneaks into his teacher's apartment and he takes a boot. And then he switched the boots! My least favorite part of this book is when David and the ghost boy trash Mr. Alveston's apartment. I hated this part because it is sad to trash an elderly person's home.

The Secret of the Indian, Feb 20 2004
The Secret of the Indian By: Lynne Reid Banks Reviewed By: P. Shah Period 1 Omri and Patrick are forced to reveal their secret to Patrick's cousin. At first, they couldn't trust her one bit, but as things got out of control, they realized they needed Emma. It all starts with Omri sending Patrick to the time of the cowboys. But when Omri brought back the indians and cowboys to life, they were all injured from a war. Omri only had one nurse so he didn't know what to do. There were about 30 injured and half dead indians in Omri's room. that's where Emma came into help. She knew of a plastic figure that was a surgeon that her sister had. By bringing him to life, the indians were helped and headed back to their own time. Meanwhile, Patrick was in the cowboy time and he wasn't having a good time. When he came back, he figured out that he had injured his best friend, a plastic figure of a cowboy. At first the nurse and surgeon thought he was dead but with Omri's strong fingers he stared breathing again. At school Omri read an essay that he wrote about his experience about his magical cupboard. No one thought it was true...except for the principal. The principal said to Omri," They were supposed to make an invention exactly like that and I have a reason to believe that you have that invention." At the end everyone thought the principal was crazy. So, the secret is being kept secret by Omri, Patrick and Emma. I really like this book because there was so much activity going on in the story. And it's so secretive! It just makes you want to read more and more! There is nothing that i disliked about this book. Quotes: Clinging precariously to the bottom rim of the ceiling, Boone shouted a yell of help before he fell. I liked this quote because it showed action and awe. Another quote: " You need to send us back," Boone shouted. " We can't! We lost the key!" Omri replied. This quote is scary because omri can't find the key so the indians are stuck in the future. My favorite part of the book is when Omri and Patrick try to keep Emma from learning their secret. But nothing works out and she finds out. I like this part because it is so suspicious of Emma and it's fun to see what they do.
