Different and well played, Mar 20 2013
As a fan of both Colin Farrell and Christopher Walken, I knew this was going to be good, and it didn't disappoint. Definately adult themes, dark humor, loved the dog...be prepared for violence; as per usual Woody H is over the top, but he does not dominate the screen thankfully.

Season Three and going strong, Mar 20 2013
Could not have hoped for any better from this wonderful British series. Many surprises (including that last episode which requires lots of tissues). Recommended for anyone who wants to see great acting and a well scripted story line - can't wait now for season four!

Good premisebut disappointing, Feb 8 2013
Take two of our finest movie actors and feature them in roles inviting to the often over looked mature audience, and you get ... disappointed? I had waited in anticipation for an opportunity to see this, yet felt it fell flat. Performances were top notch, and I could see in Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep so many real life every day people and what they go through behidn closed doors...so where did this go wrong? Can't decide really, but it's hard to recommend as being enjoyable...

Poetry, Feb 8 2013
I liked this collection of poems so much that I bought a second copy as a gift. The variety of poetry 'styles' and authors allows the reader to pick many favorites, some old, some new. Caroline Kennedy has obviously carried on quite well her own mother Jacqueline's love of the written word, sharing with new generations and audiences samples of the best...

Excellent value, Feb 8 2013
Purchased as a gift, the price paid for what looks like a far more expensive watch made this an even better choice! Skagen makes a quality time piece.

Classic love story, Feb 8 2013
Robert Mitchum's seldom seen 'softer side' is central here in this classic love story of expectations vs. desires. The cast as a whole, including Sir John Mills in his oscar winning supporting role, is excellent; the cinematography captures both the beauty and isolation of small village/countryside life. Though the pace is sometimes slow, this is recommended viewing for fans of romance, British costume dramas and just plain, solid performances.

Mitchum master class, Dec 3 2011
I remember sitting in front of the TV when this excellent mini series first aired. While some of the actors chosen to portray characters from Herman Wouk's fine novel in retrospect were questionable (Jan Michael Vincent?), Robert Mitchum remains for me the only person who could have brought "Pug" to life on the screen. His understated style makes him all the more charasmatic as the chaos of a coming war impacts on his family - this is a master class of a fine actor at his best. History is well documented here (and in the subsequent realted mini series War and Remembrance); in no way is the presentation dated and so it is a 'must have' for anyone who enjoys a good story.

A new Feinstein ?, Dec 3 2011
As someone who truly admires the amazing musical talent that is Michael Feinstein, any new release is a welcome addition to my music library. Of course I have my favorites, but sadly this second salute to Sinatra is just not going to be one of them. Vocals as always are sublime, but his choice in song titles from what is such a major catalogue to pull from (though I supppose he wanted to feature some not too often heard tunes) and how they are arranged here are not, in my humble opinion, his best works. I'll keep listenting to it though - it may grow on me yet!

THe magic continues, Oct 12 2011
There are few artists I would purchase new releases from without having heard at least one track, but Ms. Streisand's work is an exception. Her beautiful voice still has power, and these particular song lyrics are brought to life with an emotional intensity that holds more truth now that the artist has a few more years behind her. Few tunes on the 1st disc are well known, and what I assume to be new recordings of more familiar favorites on the 2nd disc are well worth re-visting. While I wouldn't rate this album among my top 5 Streisand favorites, it is a welcome addition to the collection.

Original and Excellent!, Mar 11 2011
Can't beat the original for the range of emotions it will pull you through, start to finish. Great characters, well played...worth seeing time and time again. No wonder Elton felt inspired!
