The Answer to Many Prayers and Years of My Own Research!, April 24 2004
At last my searching, praying and studying have brought me to the definitive program for reclaiming my health! And for all you naysayers out there-if you really read & studied the book and did your own research, you'd be singing a different tune as well!Dr. Young does not claim the glory for this new biology, in fact, he credits the great European scientist Antoine Bechamp (1816-1908) along w/others for the original research and theory! One also needs to take into account that a book of this revolutionary magnitude is meant for the masses and not so much the scientic community. Dr. Young has written other books for that purpose. One also should consider that the publisher also dictates certain restrictions & guidelines i.e., length, content, etc. that the author is bound by often making it difficult to encompass everything he intended. Citing studies, research & evidence in detail in this book for the masses would not serve his purpose anyway (to reach as many people as possible who are sick and tired of being sick and tired!) You want research? You want scientic evidence & studies? Read Dr. Young's first book: "Sick and Tired"! As for the supplements, I have read the book several times & remember no mention of any specific brand names-so much for the 'greed' theory. For the rest of the grumblers and skeptics out there, I can only say, "NEXT"! As for me, I'm a 'try it and see for myself' person. Yes, I appreciate reviewing what others have to say to get a 'feel' for whether or not I want to invest my time & money in a book/program, but it rang true to my own inner light when a friend shared it with me and that's something I can trust! As for the program, I can only say WOW! The weight is melting off, the blood sugar is normal again, the blood pressure is way down and that's just for starters. Yes, it's difficult at first (I wonder how 'difficult' chemotherapy, radiation and daily insulin injections can be?), but I know I'm worth it & I want my health back more than I want a juicy steack or a glass of wine! This is not a diet, it's a life-changing experience. I predict this way of life will scare the heck out of the drug companies, insurance companies, MD's/surgeons, diet/exercise industry not to mention the beef & dairy conglomerates & frankly, I can't wait! My eternal gratitude to you Dr. Young for caring and to your wonderful wife Shelley for the fabulous recipes and dedication to helping families all over the world wean their children from dietary poisons to healthier choices.

Radical, about time approach!, Aug 19 2001
The title is a little misleading and I think many miss the opportunity to discover why food has such magical, mystifying power over some of us. Applying the principles laid out in their book has been a life changing experience for many people including myself. Anyone who fights the "fat" battle knows the hopelessness/anquish/pain that excess body weight can have in our society of you can't be "too young, too rich or too thin"! The authors reveal how to make "peace" with 'forbidden' food(s), and teach us that fat is not a four letter word nor is it about food. It's been a stepping stone for me in my journey to a healthier lifestyle and I'm grateful to Jane and Carol for their efforts to inform and educate. I've spent time with them on several occasions and they are dedicated to educating people (mostly women) on the emotional and physical dangers of dieting and poor body image. I hope I haven't said too much about the book but I just can't say enough. I'd give it six stars if I could! Enjoy!

Nicely done!, July 16 2001
This map is very colorful. It also shows the typography (I hope I have that spelled right)or high spots and low spots such as the volcanic craters, etc. The beaches and airports are marked very well and the insets are detailed enough to figure out where you actually are. Street names are included at the top of the map and various points of interest around the perimeter. I have it hanging in my kitchen as a constant reminder that this is where I will be retiring!

Where has this book been all my life!, July 16 2001
This book was extrememly helpful in validating my beliefs that natural is always the better way to go especially when it comes to something as important as our bodies. Ann is very thorough in her explanations of the benefits of wheatgrass and how to grow your own as well as use it in many beneficial ways to improve the body's immune system. Her credentials are great - she knows whereof she speaks. I learned a great deal about the benefits of raw living foods as opposed to cooked food and how the living enzymes in our food are destroyed at certain levels of heat. It's a little frustrating though to learn that most of the things in the supermarket (except for the produce dept.) don't give my body much nutrition at all. But the good news is there's many authors out there trying to make the transition easier for those of us that want to try to take better care of ourselves. To them, I say a big thanks!

For a much younger reader!, July 16 2001
I was really disappointed in this book as it was my first attempt to get in touch with raw eating. If you're a 12 yr old with a Karate Kid attitude then this book is for you. Not a good book if you're looking for help with transition to a raw food diet. Very little mention of what you should eat on a raw food program other than the obvious (fresh veggies and fruit), just a lot of caveman hype about what to avoid eating, drinking, smoking or swallowing. And the spelling and grammar were atrocious as well. Sorry Paul, better luck next time.

Better Late Than Never!, Dec 22 2000
After 40 yrs of dieting (& gaining 200 lbs! in the process) this book has given me hope that nutrition is a major key to optimum health and weight. Jay helps us understand how most of our nutrients come from fresh, living plants not cooked (dead) food. It's not a big mystery now why I gained so much weight while dieting - my body was starving for nutrition among other things. Jay explains in detail why cooked food has very little nutritional value and how our bodies get so much more "bang for our buck" out of fresh fruits and vegetables. Great nutritional information as well as tasty juice and pulp recipes. Very informative - reviews most fruits and vegetables, their nutritional values and health promoting properties. Well-written, easy to understand, and packed with enthusiasm and encouragement. Keep up the great work Jay!
