I am not a colledge student. I speak not a word of Old English. (Though I am working on German) I,in fact am a thirteen-year-old who cannot understand why he is the only person in his class with a love for classic books. Beowulf was the best book I ever read and it put the love of poetry into my heart. This book is not just, or should not just be, for coledge students. I encourage the younger generations to read this book, if for nothing else, just so you have read it.
We have long used this Bible for the group studies we hold in our house. The NIV translation is wonderful, and the discussion and thought questions in this Bible are surprising and thought-provoking...a real treasure.
I have had the great opportunity to hear Mr. Walling preach on many occasions. His book packs full as much force as his sermons do...truly inspirational.
If I had to choose one book from the whole world of literature to call my dearest favorite, this would be it. There is no book more filled with the frank goodness of human nature and the possibilities of joy. This book has been a Christmas tradition in my family for years. Charles Dickens not only presents an entertaining story, but a philosophy of joy and goodwill.
