4.0 out of 5 stars I thought it was real!, March 17 2007
This review is from: Memoirs of a Geisha (Paperback)
It wasn't until I was finished that I realized that it wasn't a real story.

The Author tells it with such vivid detail, that it felt like I was right there.

I've heard the movie isn't as good ...but I'll rent it anyway!

This was a book club pick that I really enjoyed. I passed on my copy and the next person loved it ! As long as you keep in mind "it's FICTION!!!" you'll enjoy the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read, March 17 2007
This review is from: The Birth House (Paperback)
I thought this was a pretty good read. I didn't really care for the sexual parts of the story. Somehow they seemed out of place, as though they were added for shock value.

I did however enjoy the rest of the story. The addition of historical facts was a nice touch.

2.0 out of 5 stars should have been a short story., March 16 2007
This review is from: Life of Pi (Mass Market Paperback)
I rally didn't care for this book at all. The first half of the book was weak, and had no point. Now, if the story had started in the middle, that would have been different. I was so annoyed by the time I got to the second half, I found it difficult to enjoy.

I think it would have made an awsome short story.
