FANTASTIC PRIMER, Dec 10 2010
I was just at the beginning my career as a film producer when I first read Deborah Patz' book "Surviving Production: The Art of Production Management for Film and Television" in 1997. That book proved to be a very practical guide and served as an excellent resource through my first feature films. It continues to hold a place among only five or six invaluable industry resource books that reside beside my desk. Patz' new book "Film Production Management 101" is again well laid out and very detailed, providing a comprehensive step by step approach to the art of production management. Apart from the myriad of tips and industry templates she provides, it's the humorous insights and examples from Patz' own experiences that transform the information into valuable lessons on what to do, what to expect, and what to avoid at all cost!
