Politics ruins it!!!, Jun 21 2004
I like the actual music on this CD, but I am VERY disappointed by the fact half the songs are political. Like another reviewer stated, it would be just as bad if they were supporting Bush and bashing liberals. The world is full of political channels to hear and express opinions, and I don't want it in my music!!! If I want political music, I will get a 'Rock Against Bush' CD and be done with it. To take it a step farther, they are not particularly clever in their political comments, just feeding people what they want to here and believe. If they had forgone the politics, I would have given this album 5/5 stars, but they just annoyed me.(...)

The lyrics make this album what it is:, Aug 21 2003
I bought this album after hearing a few of the songs, I donï¿t regret it, but you need to know a few things about it first. It is very well done. The songs ï¿soundï¿ the same. The album is about the lyrics, NOT the music, but the music totally sets the mood and I really like it. Track 6 (Geezers Need Excitement) is a good example, the synth sounds totally set a mood of despair, well done. This CD is very much a political commentary, including the Criminal Justice Bill, weed, drinking, being poor, despair/depression, etc. ï¿ however, it is in a way that actually makes you think, but not a joke or serious, boring way, it just works. Track 7 is kinda lame, but all the other songs are pretty darn good. I gave this album 5 star because it not only entertains you, but it educates you and is good for reflecting on life. It is not only a CD, but something that makes you THINK. Finally, the last track is great. It basically goes back to the whole despair deal, it covers the fact life is hard and sucks, and that even if things are going good in your life, that could all change in a hurry. A very good life lesson, no matter how you look at it. I really recommend this album.

The only place you will EVER get this info., Feb 2 2003
I will assume you know who and what Klipsch is if you are reading this review. If you don't, Paul W. Klipsch is one on the pioneers of audio and so, so, so much more, the book will tell you everything. Klipsch is a large speaker company started over 50 years ago and is flourishing to this day. The most famous product is the $6,000 Klipschorn, and is still sold today, over 50 years after it was introduced by Paul W. Klipsch. The book is great, it gives his life's story, like any biography would and is fascinating, this man is like a god in the way he lived his life and helped others. The rest of the book is a detailed look at his many patents and other technical information. Many pictures are included. Also, the many stories and quotes from Klipsch let you get inside his head. If you are even slightly interested in audio, this book will be a treat. I have a feeling this book will end its printing life eventually (look at the sales rank...), so you might want to buy it while it is available.

My favorite Krush album:, Jan 10 2003
I have been slowly, but steadily, buying all of the DJ Krush albums and have about 6. This is my favorite. Not only do you get the strong Asian influence, you get a strong influence from Europe, and North American music, well, basically, everything! :-) This album is easy and enjoyable to listen too, and even after 20+ times through it, I still discover new parts to the music. It keeps getting better and better!!! Unlike some other albums (even some Krush) that need to be played a few times before they are liked, this one is great at the first go, so this might be the best place to start if you are new to Krush. I highly recommend this CD.

Probably the best CD around., Oct 9 2002
Wow, I really don't know what to say. This CD is thoroughly amazing from start to finish. Basically, this CD is a bunch of different styles of music artfully mixed into a 72 minute CD that will take you breath away. Everything from jazz, techno, rap, ambient, hip-hop, etc. is on this disc. The sounds go from fast and loud to soft and tranquil. It is a beautiful and emotional masterpiece that is a must have for anyone even remotely interested in this type of music. Please, buy this CD and listen to it, start to finish, and I am sure you to will be as amazed with this CD as I am!

More great DJ Spooky:, Oct 9 2002
This is my third DJ Spooky CD (File Under Futurism, Modern Mantra, and Optometry) and I like it a lot! File Under Futurism was garbage except for a few songs. Modern Mantra is absolutely spectacular, and I have listened to it over 20 (yes, twenty) times in that last week! This CD fits between the two. Some of the songs are great, some are just OK. The first few tracks are kinda toned down acid jazz, but after those are over, the CD starts to pick up. Some of the songs are a little too slow, but it all works together in the end. Some rap, some techno, some real imagination on the behalf of Paul D. Miller (DJ Spooky.) I would not recommend this as a first DJ Spooky CD (that job goes to Modern Mantra in IMO), but if you like DJ Spooky, this is definitely a must have!

Shadow is the god of DJ's, Sep 20 2002
This CD is truly one of the better CD's I have heard. To be blunt, DJ Shadow (or Josh Davis) OWNS this type of music. A few others (like DJ Spooky) have come close, but this guy has it all figured out. The CD itself is pure, untainted musical magic. There are phat beats, quiet interludes, and a he|| of a lot of emotions in this CD. I just wish it was longer and had more tracks. The only thing I don't like about this CD is it can be a little obnoxious at times, but after listening to it all the way through, you won't care! Awesome CD from a awesome DJ. A true masterpiece.

Pure bliss., Sep 20 2002
First, this CD is in no way like the fruity-ambient music you hear in nail salons or clothing stores, this stuff is what I would call hardcore ambient. If you are experienced (if you aren't, don't worry!) in listening to this type of music, you should know that the little sounds are what make a CD like this. This is the case with this disc. The little sounds throughout this CD are haunting, but very nice to listen to, and, well, they make the CD. I can't keep away from this CD. It is just spectacular. Each time I listen, it gets more detailed and involved. Not many CD's can do this. This is also GREAT music to think and relax to. One word of warning: You MUST use good headphones or a VERY good system to play back this CD. This is NOT driving music at all. I say this because even the slightest background noise will absolutely ruin the detail that MAKES this CD what it is. This is at home doing work on the computer music. If you can do that, you will be rewarded with one of the finest CD's I (and hopefully you) have had the privilege of hearing.

Well, uhh, the best movie ever? That good enough?, Sep 20 2002
Dark humor. That by itself is enough to justify this movie. It is beyond well-made; whoever did the technical work on this movie deserved major recognition. The music/sound effects are simply stunning (and funny.) It is funny (as in, a horrible pain will be taking over your sides and you will loose your breath) and interesting. There is not one dull moment in this entire movie, there is always something going on. The only thing (and another reason to buy it) is that you will need to watch it a few times to get the full effect of the movie. But, after you see it, you will need to repeat the process a few times. If you have friends (you better know them well), this is a great way to kill time, as it is better to watch it in a group. Buy it and enjoy!

Somthing different and somthing awsome., Sep 20 2002
Well, the synopsis explains how this CD is assembled, so I will not go there. Anyway, this is one of those electronic CD's that is basically one long, contiguous song that will have you tapping your feet from beginning to end. One of the little sound clips is annoying, but that would bring my rating to 4.95 stars, so boo hoo. I would highly recommend this CD, it is different (see first sentence) and it sounds awesome! GET IT!!!
