Greatest Hits by Aerosmith is quite an awesome cd. This is because it contains the groups best tracks from the seventies. It has 1 or 2 songs from their first 6 studio albums. It is a great document for people who are new to the band. I have heard all the albums these tracks come from & these are the best tracks from the period. Here is my rundown of each track.

Dream On - 10/10 - Brilliant ballad with a excellent vocal from Steve Tyler.

Same Old Song And Dance - 9/10 - Fine rock tune.

Sweet Emotion - 10/10 - Great song from Toys in the Attic.

Walk This Way - 9/10 - One of their most famous songs.

Last Child - 9/10 - Very funky.

Back In The Saddle - 10/10 - One of my favourites. Great playing from Joe Perry.

Draw The Line - 10/10 - Great song.

Kings And Queens - 9/10 - I like this one, a bit different.

Come Together - 8/10 - Good cover of a beatles song.

Remember (Walking In The Sand)- 8/10 - Good Song.

This is one of the great albums. Great lyrics & great music. The songs are magnicicent for example the great money, time & us and them. I rather like brain damage - great tune. It features sound experimentation with sound effects & is definately a landmark rock album.

The piper at the gates of dawn is a very overated album. I like PINK FLOYD, they are talented guys who have made some great music. They are a great group, but this stuff is rather ordinary. Listen to WISH YOU WERE HERE or THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON.

...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL is only a fair album i would say. Best tracks are BLACKENED, ... AND JUSTICE FOR ALL & the best track on the album ONE. The rest of the album suffers from a lack of great tracks & gets a little tedious. Some enjoyable moments but it falls away after that.

DESTROYER is the best KISS album, for example it contains no weak tracks. Just look at the track listing with songs like DETROIT ROCK CITY, GOD OF THUNDER, SWEET PAIN, SHOUT IT OUT LOUD, BETH & DO YOU LOVE ME. I still listen to this album today & it still sounds fresh & great. It combines the usual KISS sound with orchestration on certain tracks, sound effects & even a choir. KISS have made many great albums, especially in the seventies. DESTROYER is their greatest achievement.

This album by ACE FREHLEY is a great hard rock album. The musicianship of this guy is superb. The 9 tracks are great, with obvious highlights being, NEW YORK GROOVE, SNOWBLIND, WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND & RIP IT OUT. But the whole album is great & is definately the best of the 4 kiss solo albums.

THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST by heavy metal band IRON MAIDEN is an excellent album. It starts off with the very good song called INVADERS. The next track is CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED, a slower track & excellent song. Then comes the brilliant THE PRISONER & 22 ACACIA AVENUE. Of the remaining 5 tracks, 3 are some of the bands best - THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST, RUN TO THE HILLS & HALLOWED BE THY NAME. GANGLAND & TOTAL ECLIPSE are only average. A must for the collection & warrants a 5 star rating.

The black album is a great album, it has some filler but it is quite an enjoyable listen. Best tracks are ENTER SANDMAN, SAD BUT TRUE, THE UNFORGIVEN, WHEREVER I MAY ROAM & NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

WHO MADE WHO is the soundtrack to the Stephen King film, MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. The title track is one of the greatest AC/DC songs. It also contains 2 songs from BACK IN BLACK in the form of HELLS BELLS & YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG. The album has only 3 new tracks in the title track & 2 instrumentals called D.T. & CHASE THE ACE.

I give this album 4 stars. Although it is rather good, it is not quite as good as the previous live album IF YOU WANT BLOOD, YOU'VE GOT IT. Having said that, it is a fine overview of AC/DC's material over the years.
