sometimes it's good to have nosy neighbors, Aug 15 2000
Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, & Rick Ducommun play residents of a suburban neighborhood who become suspicious over the new neighbors and their bizarre night time activities. Imaginations run wild over what's going on in the new neighbors creepy old home. Rick Ducommun gives a supreme performance as the one neighbor (Art Weingartner) who so easily jumps to conlusions it's scary. Scary in that he is like so many people in America whose imaginations cause them to often jump to the wildest conclusions which, in turn, often lead to hysteria. Haven't you ever known someone whose awkward appearances or practices or even perhaps their circumstances cause them to be made the center of the town's wild imaginations? and it's these kind of folks who are often the target for "witch hunts". Anyway, the trio embark on a mission to find out just what's going on behind the closed doors of the haunted looking house, and they use tactic they can think of to do so, which leads them into constant trouble. Bruce Dern gives a hilarious performance as Mark Rumsfield, a military veteran who sometimes acts more like a kid playing war, than a concerned citizen. Actress Carrie Fisher plays Carol Peterson, Ray Peterson's (Tom Hanks) wife who wants her husband to leave with her and spend some time relaxing instead of spending his time becoming obsessed with what the neighbors are doing, but he doesn't listen and pays a heavy price .The trio find out what the neighbors are all about, but quite by accident. So the big question is, are the odd fellows across the street up to no good or what? See the movie and find out. Has light amount of language but that's about it. Comedy, drama, suspense, thrills and chills are just a few of the ingredients of this deliciously produced movie. This is one of those movies where you'd want to watch it at night curled up on a sofa with popcorn and Pepsi, or as with me ,Reese's peanut butter cups and Coca Cola.

A Super Movie, Aug 14 2000
It's World War II, and Kelly (Clint Eastwood) has found out that behind enemy lines there's a bank full of GOLD! Now all he has to do is figure out a way to get it it without getting killed and without having to divide it with too many of his comrades. This movie has action, suspense, comedy, and drama. It is filled to the gills with stars who play unique characters. Among the stars of this film are Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, Carroll O'Connor and Donald Sutherland who by the way, gives an epic performance. This is one movie you can watch again and again and again, and still love it. Oddball, (played by Donald Sutherland) demonstrates the power of positive thinking and has the most unique way of attacking the enemy while riding in a tank. This isn't one of those low budget films that leave you wondering what in the world is going on. It is a masterpiece of writing and directing. Friends of mine who are currently in the military or who are long retired veterans adore this film. Everyone who plays in this movie give stellar performances, plus, it shows just what a little team work and positive thinking can do. This is a review for the vhs version of the movie.

beware of who you buy your livestock from, Aug 14 2000
In this film, Clint Eastwood plays a rancher who unknowingly buys stolen livestock. Soon, he meets up with those who knew the real owner, and is given a dose of lynch mob justice. Out of town and out in the country, they throw a rope over a tree limb and hang the innocent rancher. Once they leave, a sheriff happens by and discovers him swinging in the air. He stops and saves his life, but not knowing why he was hanged, the sheriff takes him to the local jail. Before long, the wronged rancher is wearing a star of his own and rides out looking for the men who hanged him. Only difference is he is ordered to try and bring the men into justice legally. This picture is lined with an all-star cast including Dennis Hopper, Bruce Dern, and Alan Hale Jr.,.

a darn good spaghetti western, Aug 9 2000
Terence Hill became an international superstar with this superb film, and so did Bud Spencer. They play gunslinging outlaw half brothers who end up trying to help protect a Mormon settlement from a band of Mexican desperado's. While the Mormon's turn the other cheek, the desperado's quickly learn the Trinity brothers will not. They follow the eye for an eye tooth for a tooth teaching. But it's not just the Mexican's who want the Mormon settlement, another band of cut throats want it too, and eventually team up with the desperado's to try and take it. With all these outlaws what's the two Trinity brothers to do? Well, I won't say, but I will tell you that this movie is packed with lots of hilarious comedy, great action, and a taste of suspense. One interesting twist to this movie is that Bambino (played by Bud Spencer) is sheriff of the nearby town. How he got the job is a laugh riot in itself. This is a movie the whole family can watch and enjoy, and the sequel (Trinity is still my Name) is equally entertaining .

riveting, July 25 2000
If you love music with a good beat, hot guitar licks and a pure latino sound, this is one to get. Carlos Santana gives what I believe is his best performance of Black Magic Woman, and in fact his performance throughout the CD is nothing short of a masterpiece. But let's not forget about the rest of the band, their performances are spectacular as well. I enjoy listening to this CD over and over again. This band always, I repeat, always gives 100% to the fans. Years ago I seen a video clip of Santana playing in some country "South of the Border", I just can't recall which one, anyway, a thunderstorm had come up and it began to rain hard, but did Carlos stop playing? No, he kept right on playing even though there was the threat of lightning hitting the stage at any moment. It was so inspiring it made me cry. This is Dedication to Excellence ! And this same dedication to excellence is what you will hear on this magnificent CD. Nothing but hit after hit of Steaming Hot Latin Rock Music !

A compelling book, July 13 2000
This isn't one of those books written by some quack out in left field, this one is written by a doctor, and one who has brought the dead back to life on more than one occasion. Here in this shocking book, people who have died and been brought back to life give their accounts as to what happened to them on "The Other Side". There is a Heaven, and there is a Hell, and once you read the true accounts from these ordinary people, you'll understand why you need to make a decision concerning Jesus Christ. Many of the folks in this book detail the horrors of Hell , and many share the warm loving and peaceful experience of Heaven. I have bought a number of copies of this book, and each time I lend a copy to a friend, it is never seen again. After one reads it, they share it with another , and then another and so on. This book will make you stop and think about death and about the after life. Get a copy today ! I welcome anyone who wants to write me and I will answer all inquiries when possible.

THIS [IS BAD]...IT WILL CONTINUE TO [BE BAD], July 11 2000
If you read most of the reviews you'd think I'd give the movie the same rating, NO WAY. This movie stinks, and that's putting it lightly. I've heard some call it a "cinematic masterpiece", I don't think so, more like a waste of miles of film. Some say it's one of the best films of the 80's. Wow that's funny, it didn't win an oscar for best picture. It also didn't make the American Film Institute's Top 100 Best American Movies Of All Time list. In the story, a young man finds a severed ear and begins an investigation which leads him through the perverse side of a small town. While he attempts to solve the crime he meets a woman named Dorothy (Isabella Rossellini) who is in a wild relationship with a sadist named Frank Booth, played by Dennis Hopper. He becomes deeply obsessed with Dorothy even though he already has a girl of his own (Sandy Williams played by Laura Dern). This is a mystery movie with loads of sexual deviance. Seeing it once was enough for me. This is one of those "out in left field pictures". Oh and by the way, I've noticed that most people who give this movie a low rating, get lots of "no" votes on the "was this review helpful" column including myself. That's OK, whoever you people are, can say our reviews aren't good all day long, it won't change the fact that this movie [IS BAD]

get it !, Jun 28 2000
KISS on acoustic guitars? Yes, and they actually jam on them too ! You ought to hear Ace do his solo on ROCK-N-ROLL All Nite, "killer"! Sure, the songs won't have the exact same sound as they would with the electric guitars, but they're darn close! Everyone I know owns a copy of this unique recording as well as myself. Just think if KISS had been around during the colonial times when all they had was acoustic guitars, they'd made everyone flip their wigs ! With 15 songs on the CD it is quite a buy, and will be a gem to any KISS collection. Domino is done superbly and you can hear a sample of it by clicking on "listen to samples". Whether you're a diehard KISS fan or someone who loves good rock and roll music, you'll enjoy this most magnificent work . LONG LIVE ROCK !

bone chilling, Jun 26 2000
Someone is going around killing handicapped citizens in this suspenseful thriller, and anyone else who gets in their way. Dorothy McGuire gives a stellar performance in this movie. In fact, many in show business say this was her best performance ever. Other superb actors and actresses include, George Brent, Ethel Barrymore, Kent Smith, Rhonda Fleming, Gordon Oliver, Elsa Lanchester, and Sara Allgood. One of my favorite scenes is where Dorothy McGuire ( who, by the way plays a mute servant) is walking home through the woods when she hears noises and senses someone or something is following her. Will she become the killer's next victim? I won't say, heh heh heh. You'll need to get the movie and see for yourself. While this film isn't as graphic as many films are today, I wouldn't recommend it for viewers under age 14. This is a great film to watch at night, but definitely not alone.
