This band is solid and reliable. I like it better than a strap around the neck. I wish it were leather however.

The dictionary is very complete and informative but it fails too give the gender of nouns in the English/Spanish section. This is not very helpful.

This reader proceeds at an easy pace but is still quite instructive. It is an excellent resource for beginning students taking conversational Spanish courses

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent purchase, Oct. 20 2013

The Garmin City Navigator Europe MicroSD does everything I hoped it would. My wife and I travel a great deal for pleasure and spend hours walking about the various cities we visit as well as hiking outside the cities in smaller places. This is more convenient than a paper map and contains more information. I am very pleased with it.

2.0 out of 5 stars The Hand of Fatima, Jan. 4 2012
This review is from: Hand of Fatima (Paperback)
At 960 pages this historical novel is about 500 pages too long. It is often harrowing in its depiction of the massacres and rapes of Moriscos (Spanish Muslims) in 1500's but it reads more like a history lesson or doctoral dissertation than a novel. It certainly covers its topic thoroughly; you will learn an immense amount of Spanish history, but may be somewhat underwhelmed by the narrative. A much more readable and enjoyable novel by the same author, Ildefonso Falcones, which is set in the same time period, is Cathedral of the Sea.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Band's Visit, Jan. 4 2012
This review is from: THE BAND'S VISIT (DVD)
A brilliant Israeli film about a botched visit by the fictional "Alexandrian Ceremonial Orchestra Band" to Israel. Lost and unable to pronounce the name of their real destination properly, this group of hapless Egyptian musicians clad in sky-blue uniforms ends up in a hard-scrabble Israeli settlement instead. An ensemble film by extremely talented actors, each character has his or her moments which are both touching and quite funny. The highlight of the film is the hilarious scene in a roller derby rink where a handsome and experienced Egyptian coaches a shy virginal Israeli on how to put the moves on the girl he likes but is afraid of.

A brilliant film directed by Werner Herzog and starring Klaus Kinski. One will never forget the hero's obsession with building an opera hall deep in the Amazon. Although the description of this product claims the stars are David Perez Espinosa and Miguel Angel Fuentes, they have only important supporting roles. This is indeed the original Herzog/Kinski movie.
