3.0 out of 5 stars What? That's It?, July 12 2004
This review is from: Dark Angel:S2 (DVD)
So let's see. Season 2 deals with the fallout of Manticore, a Breeder's Cult, and racism against transgenics. My my, how could it get good? You never find out what's up with the breeders cult or even have a final faceoff between Max and White. You don't find out what happens between Max and Logan, or even the Freak Nation for that matter. They never find a cure for the virus Max has. And humanity is still a group of dumb old morons, even after 2000 years of evolution.
Why couldn't they finish this with a happily ever after twist; is that oh so hard to do? Even the creators say there were several disapointments, in the final episode, with their audio commentary. Atleast I know they agree on that. I know I wouldn't mind seeing Amy Dumas and Jessica Alba duke it out again. As for Freak Nation, I say keep on fighting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE FOR ALL REBELS, April 5 2004
Whether you're 30 years old or just turning to 6, you would be a fool not to buy this piece of Sci-fi history. George Lucas practically puts you in the film with the extreme high depth images. You can practically feel the emotion that was there 30+ years ago when Lucas first gave us Episode 4: A New Hope.
I think my favorite one was Empire Strikes Back when you saw Luke and Han in the snow and Luke was using the Tauntaun for shelter. I pity the poor man that actually has to do that in the future. But that's just me.
I cannot recommend enough that you buy this DVD set except to say that at the very least, you are saving $27.

It could have done better without the father making an idiot of himself, the kid getting all over sensitive, and a much better looking of the 1954 Godzilla corpse. They must've used a doll for the "Godzilla dying in Tokyo Bay" scene but that was just ridiculous. And when Mechagodzilla goes crazy after hearing Godzilla's roar, that's just plain dumb. I've come to expect incredible movies from Toho Co. but this could've done better.
Lose the kid, the crazy robot scene, and use the real footage from Godzilla's first death in Tokyo Bay.

There's nothing like seeing one of the most classic monster movies right from the start. I still can't get over Raymond Burr's portrayel of Steve Martin. The scene where he persuades a doctor's daughter to help destroy Godzilla is simply impressive. I wouldn't mind the captions for the Japanese being in English considering I can't read Japanese characters. But then nobody's perfect.
I recommend this movie to any Godzilla fans or to anybody who just collects monster movies like "The Blob", "War of the Gargantuas", and "Reptilicus".

5.0 out of 5 stars The Funny Farm meets A Few Good Men, Dec 14 2003
I cannot get enough of the laughs in this series. There are a few variances but nothing serious. These people can really grow on an audience with their snapiness, their distaste for death, and their willingness to go the whole nine yards just to save lives while performing in a three ring circus. And to make things better, on the last episode of disk 3, it is the last time we see or hear of Ferret Face. That's more than enough reason to buy this DVD set along with the others.

3.0 out of 5 stars NEVER leave a man hanging, Dec 2 2003
This review is from: Kindred the Embraced (DVD)
Why did they have to end it like that?! 90210 did better than that and it was dull as a library (90210 that is). The cop knows the truth, Kate the reporter is suspicious, there's a new Brujah primogen in town with a grudge, and the prince is left alone with his sire's spirit.
Do NOT buy it if you think there is an ending.

Now he's done it. Mick Foley, a man who made his legacy by getting himself torn apart, set on fire, and falling through tables, has written a story mainly about father and son. I'm having trouble completely understanding most of this but it is really touching me in my heart. You can tell that Mick used one of the most basic rules of writing; Write what you know. Right now, he knows what it's like to watch his children grow up and to spend 24 hours a day with them. You can just as easily tell that he used his 15 years of wrestling, apart from his family, to make this book another future best seller.
By all means, go for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Suture, Scalpel, Kiss...What, Surprise Me, July 28 2003
The only problem I had was there wasn't an episode just before "Welcome to Korea" where everybody mourned for Henry Blake in their own way, except of course for Ferret face and Hot Lips. Just picture this.
Hawkeye takes leave in Tokyo where, while drowning his sorrows and having his own Irish funeral for Henry, he remembers the times he spent with Blake. We see images of Henry and the 4077th like in the episode "Dreams".
This is a no laugh episode so there aren't many jokes or pranks done.
Radar, Klinger, Mulcahy, and the enlisted men form a wake for Henry in the OR and in the Officer's Club. They're still in uniform but they have black straps on their arms with the initials "HB" on them for you know who. Radar proposes a toast 'To Lt. Col. Henry Blake. The greatest man I have ever known. May he rest in peace'.
AS for Frank and Hot Lips, they order people to move on with absolutely no sensitivity or compassion.
The episode ends with Hawkeye yelling obscenities about the army and the war just while he's crying for Henry.
But so far as this set, get it! That's an order.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth even Renting, July 28 2003
I strongly prefer "The Three Musketeers" with Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, and Chris O'Donnell over this. The ladder room scene what the only this I actually considered worth watching.
