5.0 out of 5 stars Put This Indispensable Masterpiece Back In Print!!!, Dec 20 2003
I have had the chance to watch many episodes of this brilliant and IMHO indispensable and exhaustive historical documentary on the Vietnam war. As this is definitely a war which did suffer from constant disinformation in its coverage at the time, this presentation systematically discloses all the events in their proper perspective. Nothing else I have seen so far in a video format even comes close to the excellency and thoroughness of this realization. Plus the solid pace does keep your attention appropriately riveted. I think this series clearly demonstrates Washington's systematic blundering and inefficiency in the Vietnam era, which can help us draw parallels with the present Irak quagmire. It is a flawlessly critical documentary, which makes it indispensable. But it is now impossible to find since it appears to be out-of-print. Please bring this great DVD set back in print!

5.0 out of 5 stars But where are the 39 episodes of the first season????, Aug 17 2003
Yes, yes, we got all of the one-hour episodes. But where are the first season 39 episodes? All of the 30-minutes ones that constituted the first Danger Man season with our best example of british cool Patrick Mcgoohan. Now that we have the Prisoner episodes, and all of the one-hour episodes of Danger Man, we really need to copmplete our Pat McGoohan collection! I think these 39 30-minutes episodes would fit nicely on 5 DVDs... Are you reading this, A&E?

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Fine DVD Prospect!, Dec 12 2002
This review is from: Naked Jungle, the (VHS Tape)
I still remember when I saw this movie as a teenager this absolutely otherworldly vision of a luxurious jungle mountain turning crimson red through a spectacular red ants invasion that was truly creepier than "Them". And of the ever-machismo Charlton Heston defying their multitudinous hordes all by himself (I'll let you guess who won)! I wonder why this fine jungle adventure is not on DVD yet! I, for one, look forward to it (in WideScreen please!).

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent DVD Prospect!, Dec 11 2002
This review is from: Naked Prey, the (VHS Tape)
... I found it an impressive tale of survival in the great African wilderness. A genuinely savage story of the survival of the fittest, whom in this white movie happens to be the white man's superior knowledge of the wilderness... To be shelved next to "Walkabout" and "The Emerald Forest" in the "White Man Trapped In The Jungle" section! Somebody please produce this on DVD soon!!! I want it in my budding collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars "We are a way for the Universe to know itself", Oct 28 2002
This is the first genuine science series which all the following will have to measure against. It is fascinating to realize that, excellent as it was in the eighties, it still compares favorably to most contemporary documentaries. The contagious dynamism of Carl Sagan will be hard put to follow, which is deeply regrettable. Indeed, it seems that we are currently turning our sense of wonder towards our own technological feats (Of which DVD technology is indubitably part of, I know...), and inwards through global meta-communication. But the stars are patient. No doubt they will wait for us a little longer. In the meantime, treat yourselves to this little scientific and philosophical DVD wonder, Star-Gazing Fellow Earthlings, as the universe may never see its like again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly beautiful! - but not a documentary., Oct 28 2002
I suppose most science lovers like great, picturesque, documentaries; but this is not one. Sure all those quietly moving, revolving clear and sharp slides from the Hubble telescope are captivating and breathtaking. And the idea of including a new age music track definitely makes this meditative experience unforgettable. BUT I it is my humble opinion that a documentary track would have upgraded this stellar show a great lot, for seeing it the first time, at least! (Of course the reverse is also true: you can watch your favorite documentaries, like "Cosmos" or "Hyperspace" for instance, without sound, with the accompaniment of your favorite new age music...or Pink Floyd!) Try it on this one, fellow Space Travellers!

5.0 out of 5 stars They're here!, Jun 28 2002
I was hoping that somebody somewhere would someday realize that these 49 groundbraking SF episodes were cruelly absent in DVD form. And, as DVD blacks and whites can be so sharp and clear, it is very likely to feel like viewing them for the first time with all the improvements. I do hope that the remaining episodes will not remain in limbo forever (hint! hint! MGM).And that extraordinary soundtrack too...

Well, it finally got there among my X-Files, Secret Agent (Danger Man) and Star Trek TNG sets, and it was definitely worth the wait. Such nostalgia, watching these fabulous episodes in a clearer, sharper fashion than you did the first time in the early sixties! (I hope the remaining episodes qet there fast, too!) All in all, this set is a royal treat for SciFi nostalgia lovers...GET IT NOW!
