Faithful, yet faithless, Jun 30 2004
It truly is great to see a movie made version of a book, and this one is pretty close. I must say though, this movie was not scary. Danny looks like a chipmonk, and Jack is not fit for the role(he looks like an ugly girl on the cover). The film is too long, and cannot be compared to the classic version with Jack Nicholson. This movie was pretty low-budget if you ask me, and dont listen to any of the good reviews. Rent the older one, and you'll be more pleased with youre choice. Why do you think it was a "made for t.v movie?" It was too crappy to be let out in theaters, so they released it on t.v, and hardly anybody knew about it. Those who did know, barley cared.

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! BORING CRAP, Jun 30 2004
This book is a complete nightmare. Sandra Cisneros gets a bunch of credit for her fantastic writting, when she really needs to take a trip back to 1st grade and learn to put quotation marks in front of sentences that somebody is saying. She needs to indent, and make her vignettes longer than the mostly 2 paragraph long ones the book beholds. I'm only reading this crappy book because I have to, and believe me, it is all a waste of time, and the 11 dollars I paid for it at Barnes & Noble. Believe me, Sandra Cisneros is not the great writter she could be when she wrote this peace of s**t.

UUUHHHHGHGGG!!!!!!, Jun 29 2004
My parents and I watched this movie, and were not expecting what we got. You see, it was supposed to be really funny, but it turned out boring, bland, and full of bad jokes. Do not waste youre money on this garbage, all it is, is a waste of time, and even the money it costs to rent it!

An excellent film, except for the cover art, Jun 20 2004
I love this movie, but was highly dissaponted with the ugly cover art design. They should have stuck to the original poster art. Anyways, the music is great, and it is good to see such movies being restored on DVD.

A great musical, a wonderful triumph!, Jun 19 2004
This is by far my favorite musical. This is truly a great film. No wonder it won best picture at the 1961 academy awards. It is about Tony(Richard Breymer) and Maria(Natalie Wood, trying to put on a Purto Rican accent) They meet at a dance, but their two familes( Tony is American, Maria is Purto Rican) dont approve of their relationship. Marias brother is killed, and so is Tonys friend. Then Tony gets killed, and Maria's brothers girlfriend Anita almost gets rapped. There are some great songs such as Tonight, Cool, I Feel Pretty, and America which only adds to the films greatness. Rita Moreno as Anita, is an excellent dancer. In case you didnt know, almost all the main roles are dubbed for singing except for the guy who plays Bernardo. The voice overs are very well kept secret, so you think the characters are actually singing their own songs. The film is sort of a Romeo and Juliet in the city type thing. It is about love and predjudice. Truly a movie for those of a mature audience. I have found that when I was a youngster, I hated the film, but now I love it. The goof-offs and immature audience in my class hate the film, but those who are more applied seem to enjoy it. Anyways, Natalie Wood is great, along with the rest of the wondeful cast.

An excellent film...one that should get more recognition!, Jun 19 2004
This film is very beautiful, and has imporessed me with the song "Impossible dream". The film is well written, and I enjoyed Sophia Loren in it. It has very good restoration on the dvd. Thank you!

A cheap, low budget, B- rated movie, May 30 2004
This movie not only has a cover creepy enough to turn anybody off, but the movie plot line really sucks. This movie doesnt even deserve 1 star. Dracula's widow is really ugly also, which in old legends she was supposed to be beautiful. Dont waste your money on this peace of crap.

Another non-musical screen adaption (yawn yawn), April 30 2004
Well...I must say that out of all the Phantom of the Opera's I've seen, none of them even come close to being perfectley exact compared to either Gaston whats his names book, or Andrew Lloyd Webbers fantastic musical adaption. I truly and honestly believe that there should be an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical stage to screen movie adaption. If there were, I know hundreds of people whom would go see it, including myself. Over all this movie sucked, and is not worth the time, or money buying or renting it, compared to how untrue it is to the beautiful opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Was this review helpfull to you?
