Surprisingly good ......, July 13 2012
This was well done, try to avoid the temptation of comparing it to the Kirk Douglas version and you will enjoy this. It lacks the grandeur and epic feel of the original but still has alot to offer in its own way. There is no Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Peter Ustinov or Laurence Olivier in this movie, but it still holds up well and the story is fast paced enough to keep one's interest. I got this cheaply from an Amazon seller and with an unknown quantity that is usually the wisest course to take. Worth it if you don't have to pay alot for it. I will probably watch it again.

Sword and Sandal ....., July 13 2012
I really like these Sword and Sandal 'Gladiator' type of movies. This was a well done movie with nice pacing and very good visuals. It seems that the newer movies dealing with Ancient Rome are becoming very good. I compare this movie to Centurion as it is basically the same subject matter. Both these movies have good combat scenes and exciting chase scenes that put one on the edge of their seats. This is certainly worth a watch especially if you like this genre.

Very good set ......., July 13 2012
I bought this primarily for Julius Caesar, however Teahouse of the August Moon I had never seen and also really enjoyed. A Street Car Named Desire is also a real classic which is nice to own. The other film In a Golden Eye also proved to be a pleasant surprise. For the money this is a great set!

Enjoyable ....., July 13 2012
I enjoyed this DVD. A little gory at times, but not really over the top. The pacing was good, and even though it is a familiar story, there were a few innovative twists (Lawrence Talbot in the asylum) to keep it interesting. Also, the London fog and countryside scenes were well done. It is an interesting comparison to the original Lon Chaney version.

Very good film ......, July 12 2012
I usually don't go for these shoot em up hero versus villain action flicks. To me, they seem too predictable. However, this one is different, Liam Neeson makes it believable and exciting. He is a very good actor, who expresses so much without saying anything. He is also not corny or cliche. When he says that he is going to get someone in a movie he seems to say it with conviction. I also like the way that as a good guy he still has a mean edge to him. I bought this DVD for $6.00 used in very good condition. Well worth the price. I will certainly revisit it for another viewing in the future.

I really enjoyed this ......, July 12 2012
Nice feel of the medieval/crusade times in my opinion. Good flow to the movie, never boring, very good visuals. The Danish actor who plays the villain (can't remember the actor's name) did a very good job. Great battle scene at the end. In it's own way, it rates right up there with 'Kingdom of Heaven' as one of the really good medieval/crusade films.

Pretty Good ......, July 12 2012
I thought this movie was pretty good. Very good acting by Peter O'Toole (a very good actor no matter what he is in). Nice visuals and feel of Ancient Rome. It still has that watered down 'made for TV' feel to it. In my opinion, if you don't have to pay too much for it, then it is worth it. I will probably come back and watch it again at some point in the future. Also, if you like this genre, it is still a good DVD.

Silly fun ....., May 7 2012
The Three Stooges Meet Hercules is silly, fun. I saw the movie when I was a kid, then thought I would revisit it as an adult. Actually, it was funnier when I was a kid. Still, not a bad diversion if your in the mood for silly comedy.

I really liked this movie ....., May 23 2011
It seems that anything Clint Eastwood is in, or directs is good. This movie is no exception. He plays a harsh, bigoted, tough character who shows he has a very caring side. I think that this is not an easy things for an actor to do. Clint's charisma and acting talent really shine in this movie. Highly enjoyable.

Soylent Green is ....., May 22 2011
I enjoyed this movie. Being a big fan of Logan's Run and Rollerball, I like my 70's sci-fi. This is a very grim look at the future. You can tell that it is dated and probably this was the mentality people had of the future in the 70's. Some of these special effects (in fact most) look cheesy and weak by today's standards, but I think that a lack of special effects somehow put more emphasis on the story and character development. It was nice to see Chuck Heston and Edward G. Robinson together. They worked well together in the ten commandments. At times, I get in the mood to watch some old sci-fi, and this with the Omega Man makes a good double feature.
