I enjoyed reading the book and see a lot of the characters more developed, more complex. I didn't feel that the series were worse my while overall. It only left me wondering" why go through all this trouble over 3 volumes" if this is how you will end the story? I suppose leaving everything hanging and unsettled more closely relates to the misery of trials through our lives. I kept thinking about all the descriptions of magic objects that were never really used, seemed pointless. It could have been so much more and so much more complex on all levels. I felt it was too shallow, too brisk to end, as if the author was tired of writing and just wanted to throw enough things into the book, so it would keep everybody happy. The best analogy I can think of for this book is like making love with a hurried man who just wants to finish.
The book is well organized and sections of interest are easy to find. This is an invaluable resource for anyone who is looking for a more natural and chemical free lifestyle. I have switched to natural hair care 2 years ago and it took about that long to do the research and educate myself. I was happy to find the book that already contained suggestions for healthier product choices and some great home made recipes to start with for other areas of personal care. Great work!
Ladies, don't waste your time! I didn't find this book helpful. The book is full of anecdotal cases and informal interviews. The author didn't get her "evidence" together enough to create a coherent argument. It seemed to me that she was trying so hard to convince herself that her book is worth reading that she got lost somewhere in her own translation. If you are a confident, independent woman (i.e. Sherry's "B" definition) why would you need a man to marry you to realize your self worth?!
