4.0 out of 5 stars Very informative., Aug 19 2000
A good reference book for the daylily fancier. The author gives a comprehensive description of the more well known cultivars, and includes both good and bad points. More photographs would have given it five stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice pictures......but, July 21 2000
The pictures alone in this book make it an essential purchase for the daylily fancier. I would have given it five stars except there was no mention of Stamile's Candies, which have won the last two Stout Silver Medals. Also, I found the author tended to mention only good points of a plant and not bad ones such as poor bud counts. People buying this book want to know all about a plant so that they can make an informed judgement if they are considering buying the plant.

5.0 out of 5 stars I still refer to this book 30 years after first reading it., Oct 29 1998
This review is from: The Lessons of History (Hardcover)
Will and Ariel Durant tried to bring Philosophy and an understanding of History to the common man and woman. They succeeded admirably, and some thirty years after reading this book I still turn to it in order to understand events occurring around me. This is no scholarly tome, but an invaluable manual for those seeking a better understanding of the world around us. It should be compulsory reading for all those aspiring to public office.
