4.0 out of 5 stars Gonna make an appointment anytime soon?, July 15 2004
This review is from: Dentist [Import] (VHS Tape)
OMG! This has got to be the most disturbing movie I have seen in a LONG time. I love it!
Alan Phinestone is teetering on the edge of insanity. But after he catches his gorgeous wife Brooke messing around with the pool guy, it pushes him over the edge. He cuts his wife's tongue out, yanks out all of her teeth (with no painkillers, OUCH) and then starts in on his regular patients, in particular the cute little preteen who has been waiting for a long time to get her braces taken off.
I refused to even THINK about going to a dentist for about 7 years after seeing this and there is still a few parts of it that I cannot watch to this day.
Excellent!

Fletcher Reed is a lawyer who always wins his cases by lying. But unfortunatly the judge isn't the only person he makes a habit of lying to. His constant promises to spend time with his son Max never come through at the last minute.
So when Max makes a wish that for 24 hrs that his dad cannot tell a lie, he never expected it to actually come true. Unfortunatly in the affected 24 hours, Fletcher has a HUGE divorce case to settle and his fabricated story cannot be told.
At the same time, Max's mother Audrey has been offered a marriage proposal from her boyfriend and plans to take Max to Boston with them. Now Fletcher must deal with not being able to lie and try to change Audrey's mind before he loses Max forever.
One of Jim Carrey's best movies, it made me lol the whole time.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's 12 noon, do you know where your baby is?, July 5 2004
This review is from: Baby's Day Out (VHS Tape)
When baby Bink is kidnapped by three bumbling kidnappers posing as baby photographers, he manages to escape from their hideout and do all the things mentioned in his favorite story book.
Always one step ahead of his would be captives, he leads them through parks, construction sites and an ape house at the zoo. The best part of all is when they finally get their hands on him just as the cops come up to ask about their vehicle. Trying to hide baby Bink under his coat, Eddie gets a little warm downstairs. By the time the cops leave and he is able to remove his coat from his lap, he is on fire. His buddy stomps him out again and again ("THAT is how you put out campfires")
I laughed so hard at this movie I was crying. Not really for children, but a great comedy for teens and adults.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chucky gets lucky, July 5 2004
This review is from: Bride of Chucky (Widescreen) (DVD)
Ten years after the notorious Lake Shore Strangler Charles Lee Ray was gunned down, his longtime girlfriend Tiffany gets ahold of his remains, rebuilds him (sort of) and brings him back to life in hopes of resuming their love affair.
But Chucky has other plans. He is more interested in transferring his soul to another human being. In a fit of rage, a heartbroken Tiffany locks him in a cage and buys Chucky a bride doll as a joke. Chucky takes this new doll, electocutes Tiffany in the bathtub and turns her into a pint sized little terror.
Together, they highjack a pair of unsuspecting newlyweds and take them hostage with plans to take over their bodies. Chucky and Tiffany end up resuming their romance with some of the most hilarious love scenes ever. ("I am anatomically correct you know...")
A great horror/comedy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Sorry Jack, Chucky's back!, July 5 2004
This review is from: Child's Play 2 (Widescreen) (DVD)
This sequel picks up where the first one left off.
Young Andy is now in foster care after being taken away from his mother. He still has nightmares about his killer doll.
Little does he know that the company has completly reconstucted Chucky. After Chucky escapes from the factory, he tracks Andy down to his new home. He begins to do things that get Andy in trouble and nobody listens when Andy tells them "Chucky's back".
When Chucky and Andy have their final showdown at the doll factory, Chucky finds out that it is now too late to transfer his soul. He is now human. This enrages Chucky and his goal now is to kill him.
Not as good as the original, the sequal is decent at best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Guy or Killer?, July 5 2004
This review is from: Child's Play (Full Screen) (DVD)
When young Andy finally gets the doll of his dreams for his birthday, he doesn't know that his mother bought the doll from a peddler in the alley behind the department store where she worked. His mother didn't realize that the doll came from a burned down toy store where the notorious Lake Shore Stranger Charles Lee Ray was gunned down.
When Andy is left with his mother's friend Maggie, she is mysteriously thrown out of the apartment window to her death. No one believes Andy when he tells them the truth: "Chucky did it" Andy's doll turns out to be Charles Lee Ray, who moments before he died transferred his soul to the doll using voodoo.
When Chucky finds out he has been in the doll too long and is now turning human, he is told the only way to get out of the doll is to transfer his soul to the first person he told his true identity to, who is, you guessed it, Andy.
Now Andy and his mother must stop the notorious killer before he takes Andy's soul forever.
An edge of the seat thriller! This is the best one of the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Scooby Dooby Doooooo!, July 1 2004
This review is from: Scooby-Doo (VHS Tape)
After a classic Scooby Doo mystery being solved, Velma gets tired of Fred always taking the credit for her work and quits the gang. Fred and Daphne follow suite and the now lonely duo of Shaggy and Scooby go off on their own.
About a year or so later, they meet up again at the airport where, unbeknownst to them, they are all invited to the newly opened Spooky Island theme park to solve a mystery. Each person vows to solve the mystery on their own, but once they get to their destination, they realize that they must work together once again to solve the mystery of what is changing the vacationing college students from normal teenagers into zombie type strangers.
Shaggy meets a girl who becomes a sort of love interest and sort of casts Scooby off for his new interest. When Scooby realizes there is more to Shaggy's new friend than meets the eye, Shaggy refuses to listen and causes Scooby to become a willing, but unknown participant in the evil doer's plan to take over the world.
Loaded with great special effects, computer animation and a great cameo starring the puppy everyone loves to hate, Scrappy Doo, this movie is great. The characters all kept the same aspects that made the cartoon great. However, there are some things that kept me from giving this movie 5 stars. In the cartoon, Velma never seemed resentful of Fred always taking the credit, Daphne was more than a spoiled selfish brat, Fred did not act stupid even in the least.
If you enjoyed the old cartoon series, you will surly like this live action movie.

Roller Coaster Series:Great...
Roller Coaster Series:Great...
VHS

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better, June 30 2004
Fourteen of America's best roller coasters (at least one is now defunct). I mainly bought this because it has my all time fave coaster on it, The Beast. I found several things wrong with it however.
The hosts are very annoying. If you've ever watched the "Dinosaurs" documentaries, you will remember Eric Boardman. I thought he sucked as a host for the Dinosaurs shows and he sucks even worse as a roller coaster show host.
The cameras did not carry you all the way through the rides on several of the coasters. Like, the car would go down the hill, and just as it was coming out of the tunnel (ie The Beast) they pulled the camera away and showed it coming out. Way disappointing.
The non exsistent 3-D. Like several other reviewers have said, there was barely any difference between with the glasses or without the glasses.
Annoying guys who seemed to be on EVERY SINGLE COASTER FEATURED who screamed non stop throughout the entire ride and cheesy music playing in the background.
Now the good things:
Interviews with Ron Toomer, one of the designers for Arrow Dynamics, the company who built alot of these coasters.
Interview with Ray Eubrough(sp?) the president of the American Coaster Enthusiasts (at least he was at the time this was filmed)
The statistics of all the coasters featured and, if it didn't show the ride all the way through, an idea of how the ride goes.
At least during the winter I can still watch this and attempt to pretend I'm riding my fave. Overall a good documentary if you can't get to an amusement park anytime soon to REALLY ride and good to tide you over through the winter months.

3.0 out of 5 stars Belongs on the comedy shelf, June 29 2004
This was the first of the horrible NOES sequels. First of all, Patricia Arquette did not return to reprise her role as Kristin. Second, Freddy was supposed to be scary?? With all his wisecracking and stupid humor, he seemed like a washed up has been comedian. Trust me on this one, any ANOES's after part 3 is a waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you leave a man for dead, make sure he's really dead!!, June 29 2004
When a group of four graduates, who are getting ready to part company for summer, go for a late night drive, the driver is drunk. He hits a man. They think he is dead so they dump his body in the ocean to let it get eaten by sharks. They then go on with their lives. WRONG ASSUMPTION.
The next summer, Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) starts getting pictures and notes sent to her with the cryptic message "I know" written on them. She reunites with her friends Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Barry (Ryan Phillipe) and Ray (Freddy Prinze Jr) to find out what is going on. It turns out that all of them except Ray has been getting the strange notes too.
Soon, one by one they are picked off one by one by a man with a hook for a hand. Finally, Julie comes face to face with the man they thought they had killed for a chilling finale.
Watch it alone and with the lights out!
