Unexpected, Jun 2 2013
When I think of these stories, I think in colour. Byat is a great wordsmith, but oh! What horrific stories. I guess I wasn't expecting that at all. I will never be able to look at Matisse again in the same way...not bad, just different for sure.

So sweet, Mar 30 2013
These actors in this setting makes for a fine set-up. So real, so uplifting, so sweet. It could have been completely different, but no! What an endearing film.

Bond does it all, Mar 30 2013
Who will again do M as amazing as Judy Dench? A very real story with very handsome and clever spy in Bond. And then there is creepy blonde Javier. This Bond is endearing, sharp and fast-moving. Great stuff.

Gentleness, Mar 30 2013
Bureaucracy can be heartbreaking. Although he has everything going for him, nothing works out. He remains a gold star in a world of drabness. So sad.

A must see, Mar 30 2013
Being in a wheelchair, I find this movie very real. The class difference and super funny bits, all very French, are handled superibly by 2 remarkable actors. I enjoyed it absolutely.

Calm yet active, Mar 30 2013
Forgetting and remembering are themes here. This story held me captive. Maybe because I love gardens, maybe because of a South African background, but never because of evil and evil was a part of the story. Absolute forgiveness and the difficult road there makes this a remarkable book...the setting and descriptions of inner and outer landscapes in gorgeous language makes for a remarkable journey. I listened to this with joy.

Major WOW, Oct 30 2012
Let’s face it – you either like Gould or not. I happen to like his playing, his quirkiness, his daring. I found these chats, discussions to be very intellectual and stimulating. And then his playing. Such ease. Such thought goes into every phrase, every sound. This collection is certainly meant for a serious music buff. There is little space for like or dislike. Only space for love! Thank goodness these dvds are there for posterity. I also found the movie, The idea of North, to be a great part of Gould’s thought process. As a whole, this group of sounds is mesmerizing and fulfilling. And that I could hear all, is wonderful.

Very rewarding, Aug 13 2012
I have owned The English Patient on video forever and it became time to own it on DVD. I have also read the book, so I really have nothing but praise. A remarkable movie with wonderful actors.

Super shortcut, Aug 13 2012
Jung – by Anthony Stewart, is a very clear book about the complex methods of Carl Jung. I consider myself to be only an interested party...I have read all his intricate books, and am familiar with his methodology, his search for clarity, his connection to Freud. This book is really simple: if you want to know more about Jung’s ideas, here they are in short layman terms. If you are interested in more detail, read more, think more. This book will get you interested. It is suitable for a person who is not a scholar, but might want to be one some day. I liked it.
