4.0 out of 5 stars Great Tour, Oct 2 2010
The 20th anniversary tour of Rust in Peace, is excellent. I saw the Toronto Show that Megadeth played of this tour and it was great. Dave Mustaine is a great guitar player and having junior back in the band was awesome too.

Right from the first thrash of guitar on Holy wars to Hangar 18, take no prisoners and dawn patrol are such classics it was great hearing them live again. For the closing songs on this live album are slightly different from the show that I saw in Toronto, but they still include my favorites like Trust, In my Darkest hour, Symphony of Destruction and Peace Sells.

An awesome cd from a great tour. Good for Megadeth to Celebrate one of their best albums.

Dave Mustaine's Book made me a bigger fan of Megadeth, he is right up front about his life and it is a very interesting read. A Must read and I have seen Megadeth live this year and it was a great concert (Rust in Peace 20th Anniversary Tour)

5.0 out of 5 stars IRON MAIDEN KEEPS GETTING BETTER, Aug 21 2010
This review is from: The Final Frontier (Audio CD)
Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier is an epic Album, loaded with Classic Maiden bass riffs, Killer Solos and Excellent Lyrics. From start to Finish the final frontier is a concept album that rivals seventh son of a seventh son. A True Iron Maiden Master piece that any music lover would enjoy.

Satellite 15...the Final Frontier is a great song that has an element that Iron Maiden uses to mold 2 songs into one like Pink Floyd. Then it leads into the single El Dorado which is filled with solid drumming, great lyrics and the usual Harris Bass and 3 guitar solos that just make Iron Maiden a Hard Rock Band.

Iron Maiden is a great band that for some reason gets no respect and very little air play yet the Final Frontier is the top Selling album in Canada and in Britain it just goes to show you how strong the fan base is for Maiden and its only getting better. Mother of Mercy, the Talisman and The Man who would be King are all great songs, yes they are long but they are so ingenious that you don't notice the time. The closing song When the wild wind Blows is new Maiden that sounds old but very distinguishable.

This is not a Heavy Album, Im not sure why People think Iron Maiden is too Loud to me they are a Hard Rock Band that should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and are still able to put out better music in the 30+ years they've been around.

Up the Irons! Buy This Album its Well worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Album of the Decade, Nov 25 2009
This review is from: Fantasies (Audio CD)
I was hooked on Metric when I heard the opening track, Help Im Alive. There is not a bad song on this album. I can listen to this album over and over again. The guitar and lyrics in sick muse, and the piano in Blindness are phenomenal. Gimme Sympathy and satellite mind are Metric at its best. I have heard other songs from Metric (monster Hospital) in the past and I thought were great, but this Album just blows my mind and all of other material from them. This album is a defining moment of the 2000's where music has been so inconsistent.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Soundtrack for this Generation, April 8 2009
This review is from: Communion (Audio CD)
This is an Epic Album, by far the best unheard album of the decade. Iam writing this review in hopes that more people will buy this album. I have Never heard of the Soundtrack of our Lives before a special on the Edge 102.1 Toronto radio. Allan Cross played the first track Babel On and I was blown away by the psychedelic rock with an alternative twist.

Communion is a Concept Album that portrays societies struggles and technological advances. Its a double album well worth the 90 + minutes. It is about time a band goes against the "social demand" of soft rock with catchy hooks and even more the Soundtrack of our lives, have talent to write their own songs unlike most of todays so called rock music.

Disc 1 - standouts are - Babel On, The Ego Delusion, RA 88, Second Life Replay, Thrill Me and Pictures of Youth. All have a good mix of guitar, lyrics and a combination of music that opens up your mind.

Disc 2 - a little more folky - but still this disc is just as good as the first if not better. Stand outs are Everything Beautiful must Die, The Fan who wasn't there, Lost Prophets in Vain, Digitarian River bank and Lifeline.

The Soundtrack of our Lives have a great combination of classic rock, psychedelic and Alternative Music. Great Guitar, vocals and a beat that sounds classic but is new. A must have for all collectors of Concept Albums, New Music or Classic Rock, Communion Needs to Be Heard by the General Public because the Kids of today do not have a good understanding of great music.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth The 13 Year Wait, Dec 14 2008
This review is from: Chinese Democracy (Audio CD)
This is a Terrible Album. I can't believe that I have waited 13 years for Axl to release his solo album. Im sorry but the only good thing about this album is the the guitar. I am really surprise that Axl found a guitarist good enough to almost sound as good as Slash. In 2001 when Madagascar leaked onto the internet I was blown away and maybe if Chinese Democracy was released back then, maybe I would like this album more.

I refuse to buy this album, and I hope any true G N FN R Fan would because this is a SAD Stunt pulled off of a Lame Axl. I will file my burnt copy with the rest and not with my GNR cds.

I do like the guitar on the Songs Chinese Democracy, Shaklers Revenge and This I love (by far the best song on the album)

Better is a great song well written and so is if the world a true Axl Rose Song great piano and guitar.

What I can't stand is the vocals being distorted and the annoying cries of Axl trying to be who he used to be now he is just a joke. Just listen to Catcher in the Rye, Scraped and Street of Dreams. They are awful and very hard to listen to because they hurt your ears.

Chinese Democracy was overhyped and I consider myself the Biggest Guns N' Roses Fan Ever and this is just a lame attempt by Axl using a great name to front his Solo Album.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Piece of Rock History, Nov 30 2008
This review is from: Electric Bananas (Audio CD)
The Pretty Things one of the Premier British Bands Time Forgot. Lost in the British Invasion, they needed to make some extra cash so they did some obscure songs for some b-movies and soft core porn films under the band Electric Banana.

I was able to download this cd from a website and it is awesome.

Right off the get go the psychedelic music begins with and epic song - A thousand ages from the sun. Blow your mind is my favourite track full of good guitar and great lyrics. I see you is a great song that was actually originally off of SF Sorrow.

15 songs that are needed for any collector if you can get your hands on this record or cd its a must and look it up on the internet under Electric Banana and you might be able to find it to download.

3.0 out of 5 stars I Waited 13 Years for This...........Screw You Axl, Nov 28 2008
This review is from: Chinese Democracy (Audio CD)
I am a huge Guns N' Roses Fan. I rate this album 3 out of 5 for the fact that the guitar on the album is great. Shaklers Revenge and Better are awesome songs that blow you away with phenomenal guitar solos and thrash.

The worst thing about Axl's album is the voice enhancement on the songs of Chinese Democracy, There was a Time and Catcher in the Rye. It is obvious that Axl's voice is not what it used to be and he tries to hide it by distorting his vocals. Madagascar is not nearly as good as the leaked version from 2001, 2 minutes of a speech on the song is just too political for my liking.

I am very impressed by This I Love and Prostitute, the are well written and actually sound like Guns N' Roses.

Its sad that Axl fired the Heart and Soul of the Band (Duff and Slash) and draged out this album for so long. Axl could have released this album back in 2001 and it might have been ok. Chinese Democracy just isn't worth the 13 year wait for Axl to release his solo album. Its a shame he is who he is and this album is not Guns N' Roses its Crap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well its a Reunion Show, Oct 15 2008
This review is from: Dark Shadows Reunion (DVD)
This is a great DVD for the die hard fan who can't get enough Dark Shadows. Johnathan Frid is missing but there is some good footage of him on the Merv Griffin Show. Its great to see Dan Curtis tell of his vision of Dark Shadows and all the cast Nancy Barret, Katherin Leigh Scott, Lara Parker and Alexandra Moke. Its great to see John Karlen, David Selby and Mitchell Ryan tell some fun stories from their duration on Dark Shadows. Its a very entertaining dvd.
