Quirky but quite enjoyable, Oct 21 2012
Didn't know what to expect from this movie as I'd never heard of it before renting it. It was cute and quirky as opposed to hilarious and crass (as many comedies are). The two main characters - the twelve year olds - were engaging and you found yourself rooting for them even though they were odd little misfits. If you want a gentle comedy, not a gross, crude affair you might well enjoy this one.

Addictive!, Sep 8 2012
I started this novel at 4:00 in the afternoon and finished it before midnight. Could not put it down. Lucky the family got supper. Such a superb storyteller! The setting and the plot line were very intriguing. Started it and just couldn't put it down. Not a 'deep' read but a very good tale! Haines is my currently my favourite author. Good story line and characters you can care about.

Alone?, July 30 2012
Did no one else find this novel disturbingly gruesome? This is the first book I've read by Linda Castillo and it may well be my last. Unfortunate because l really liked her main character, Kate, and the fact that her Amish background added another unique aspect to the story. Didn't like the gore though and I don't think I'll be buying any more in this series.

Nope!, July 29 2012
If you want to enjoy Sherlock Holmes at his very best run out and buy or rent the series starring Jeremy Brett. He is the consumate Sherlock! This movie only borrows Doyle's character and sticks him a frenetic plot. Robert Downey Jr's take on Sherlock is totally annoying and half way through the movie I was contemplating his demise. Don't waste your time or money.

just can't, Jun 18 2012
I have spent hours trying to 'get into this novel and it's just not going to happen. I'm about three quarters of the way through it and I don't think I'll bother with the rest of it. I am not attached to any of the characters and the plot is almost non-existent. I know I won't go looking for any of her other books.

Boring!, Jan 18 2012
I was thrilled to see this novel sitting on the shelf at our local library and snatched it up thinking I had an enthralling novel to sit down and enjoy. I was thoroughly disappointed. I find that I either love Picoult's novels or I hate them and unfortunately this one definitely landed in the latter category. Found the subject matter depressing and exasperating in turn. If we were suppose to care for the characters in this book the author failed miserably. I could not identify or sympathize with any of them. Only got about five chapters in before I set the book aside and started another. Maybe her next one will be an improvement. Hope so!

Slow!, Nov 11 2011
Tried my very best to get into this novel as I love 'Bones' which is based on these books. Very slow and morbid. Would not recommend it.

Nope!, Sep 9 2011
I had read the reviews of this novel and in my mind I was comparing it to To Kill A Mockingbird - little girl narrating and learning about life. Couldn't even get interested in it until the last third. Can't honestly say why I kept reading until then. If the first part of the book had had the same momentum as the last third it would have received a much higher rating but I can't honestly recommend this novel to anyone.

Disappointed :(, Sep 9 2011
Was really anticipating the arrival of this DVD. Unfortunately not much was on it and the ones that were weren't my favourites. Not worth the money. Buy Magnum P.I. by the season and not by someone else's perception of the 'best' of this series. I learned my lesson!

Don't miss this one!, Sep 9 2011
Couldn't miss out on reading this one. Everywhere I went friends and relatives were raving about it. I don't usually 'go with the crowd' but this novel was in your face wherever you went. Bought one for myself and then one for my mother. As soon as I finished the book I followed it up by going to the movie with my sister. Both the book and the movie are well worth the time. You'll end up caring about these women just as much as we did. P.S. Take a kleenex or two with you to the movie.
