Mystery??, April 23 2013
A very long story with a lot of perhaps unnecessary detail. Good plot, good characterization and well thought-out but I like my mysteries to move a little faster.

Gorgeous book - definitely a keeper, April 23 2013
This is a beautifully illustrated book describing the tapestries at Cluny and their history, written by a knowledgable and notable French authority. Will remain one of my favourites. Even as a 'coffee table' book it is well worth the investment (which is not much, considering the quality). I highly recommend it.

Good mystery, Jan 26 2013
This is a typical Barbara Nadel mystery set in Turkey. It is the kind of story she is known for with her well-known and loved detectives. Her fans will not be disappointed witht this one.

For those in business .., Jan 26 2013
Disappointing and would not recommend this book. It was written by an American entrepeneur who apparently made millions selling pool tables on the internet, but still found it necessary to make money selling a book. He already had a successful business before taking it to eBay and for those already in business it might be helpful, but for those who just want to learn the basics to sell a few things it is not very instructive.

Good basic manual, Jan 26 2013
Very interesting and instructive, but somewhat out of date - the eBay format and rules have changed since this book was published

Typical Peter Robinson English mystery, Sep 24 2012
Same old Inspector Banks - music, musings and pub grub - mystery combined with ex-pat Brit nostalgia and current Euro politics. Those who like consistency will not be disappointed.

great Canadian mystery, Sep 2 2012
Excellent, engrossing mystery with great characters, realistic dialogue, humour, pathos, diabolical but thoroughly believable plot. Well researched and thought out - even manages some romance, horror and poetic prose. Don't wait for the TV movie - it couldn't capture the essence of this book. A must read.

Contemporary Quebec, May 20 2012
Well written, well thought-out and well characterized by Louise Penny as always. Mystery set in the two solitudes of Quebec. Good read and good bargain.

Harlequin for the bondage set, May 20 2012
Don't know whether these 'grey' books are abusive or just plain silly. Frightens me that young women reading this tripe think that this type of voluntary degradation is desirable. Surely we have come further than that. They are not even well-written. Hero is a modern Marquis de Sade and heroine (if one can call a slave a heroine) a contemporary Tess. Most disappointing thst these are best-sellers. Only good news is thst I bought them on sale.
