Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr., Dec 15 2011
I followed Landau on American's got Talent and warmed to him from the time of his first audition. Like most I figured he would be a farce until he opened his mouth to sing. He was my favourite to win and I was overjoyed when in fact he did. I have just received through amazon.ca his first album and was not disappointed. He sings Sinatra and Martin but put just enough of his own touch to make these songs his own. I must have listened to this cd 10 times and I believe I will go back and listen to it again. If you love Michael Buble(our own Canadian superstar:)) you will love Landau. This cd would make a wonderful gift for Christmas. Do not hesitate this cd is worth the money and more. Enjoy!!

The Accident, Aug 19 2011
Linwood Barclay has done it again, creating another edge of your seat suspense novel that will leave you wanting more. I have read all of Linwood Barclay novels and loved every single one of them but this one is even better than the last. I will not go over the details of the book since other reviewers have already done that. The twists and turns in this novel will leave you scratching your head trying to figure out who done it. You might be convinced on one particular individual until you come across another twist in the story. The ending will blow you away!! This book is well worth every penny and more. You will have a very hard time putting this novel down. Read it and enjoy!!

Perfect book for the end of a work day, Oct 7 2010
John Dies At The End is a perfect book to entertain you after spending a hectic day at work. It will actually make you laugh even if laughter would be the last thing you would feel like doing. David Wong created two wacky but endearing characters in Dave and John. Read this book and join them in their weird and sometimes scary adventures. This book is so silly that it will actually make you turn the pages to see what Dave and John will do/see/say next. Keep an open mind and enjoy!

Still My Favourite Book, Feb 17 2010
I read Swan Song by Robert McCammon when it first came out in 1987 and 23 years later the story still comes to mind. I am an avid book reader going through 1 to 2 books a week but Swan Song is still by far my favourite novel. It will remind you of Stephen King's The Stand, another excellent page turner, but I find the characters in Swan Song better developed making them more likeable and/or hateable whatever the case may be. You will bite your nails to the quik when good meet evil to fight it out and see which group will dominate the word. You will cheer and unfortunately you will shed tears at the outcome. This kind of "end of the world" book might not be for you but if you enjoy none stop action, read this book. Sister Creep was my personal favourite and still is to this day. A remarkable lady despite the fact she started out as a "bag lady". She WILL earn your respect!!! Read it and enjoy!!

Amazing Book with a Twist, Feb 5 2010
I have read all of Tim Downs' books and enjoyed every single one of them. In Ends of the Earth Dr. Nick Polchak is back solving the murder of a friend's husband and by so doing, discovering a terrorist plot that might spell disaster for America and the whole world. Kathryn was first introduced in Shoofly Pie, the first book of the Bug Man's series. Nick also seeks assistance from the amazing dog trainer Alena Savard, "the witch of Endor". Dr. Polchak met Alena in Tim Downs' previous book Less than Dead. Nick in love!? Is it possible for a "bug" to fall in love with someone from the human species!? Whom will he choose? Will it be Kathryn, the beautiful redhead who is terrified of bugs or will it be Alena, the dark haired beauty who can train dogs to do anything but speak. Pick up Ends of the Earth and find out for yourself. Enjoy!

Discovering Dr. Nick Polchak, Jan 15 2010
I was browsing in my favorite book store when I came across this book containing 2 novels featuring Dr. Nick Polchak a forensic entomologist also known as the "Bug Man" written by Tim Downs. The stories sounded interesting so I decided to take a chance. I am so happy I did. Both novels Shoofly Pie and Chop Shop are filled with gross scenes as Nick Polchak explains the whole mysterious process of blood-seeking flies and flesh eating beetles on dead bodies. Dr. Polchak solved the mystery of Kathryn Guilford's friend's apparent suicide just by studying species of flies and their environment. Very graphic, not for the faint of heart. In Chop Shop, Nick helps Dr. Riley McKay, a Pathologist, to uncover suspicious bungled autopsies performed by her supervising pathologist at the Allegheny County Coroner's office, Dr. Nathan Lassiter. Again Dr. Polchak uses tiny maggots to solve the mystery. You will find that Dr. Nick Polchak is not your typical hero. He is not handsome, wears thick glasses and he comes across as a very rude and sarcastic individual indeed. You just cannot help but fall in love with him despite his shortcomings. After reading these two novels, I ordered, through Amazon.ca, the other 3 installments of Dr Nick Polchak, the Bug Man, series of which I just finished First the Dead(another page turner) and now starting Less than Dead. If you want mystery, suspense with some humour blended in, pick up a copy of Shoofly Pie and Chop Shop. You will not be sorry. Happy reading!

Beautiful Voice, Sep 10 2009
I am forever on the look out for new artists that I might enjoy. I took a gamble purchasing this cd by Amaury Vassili but it was worth every penny!! What a beautiful rich voice!! Anyone who enjoy Josh Groban, Paul Potts, Il Divo, Destino, to name a few, will appreciate this young new artist. Do yourself a favour and give this young talent a try, you won't be sorry.

Great Book/Great Author, Aug 28 2009
I bought this book because I wanted something different to read from murder mysteries. I am very glad I did! Sean Costello grabs you from page 1 to the very last word by keeping you turning the pages to see what will happen next. This is a father and son story with a twist. Mr. Costello gives you a glimpse of what it might feel like to loose a child and what a parent would go through to get him/her back no matter the cost. If you enjoy suspense with a dash of supernatural you will enjoy reading Here After. I am now reading "Sandman by Sean Costello" another page turner.

Amazing Voice, Jun 3 2009
I have been a fan of Paul Potts since I heard him sing on Oprah. I purchased his first cd the day it came out. No matter how often I listen to it, I get goose bumps. His second cd is just as good as the first. I did not realise Paul was at Chapters in Ottawa because since I am a resident of Orleans, Ontario, I would have been there. I agree with Lightspring 2000, there should have had more advertisement. Thank you Paul for allowing us to share your beautiful voice.

What a let down, Dec 9 2008
Dean Koontz is one of my all time favorite author but Your Heart Belongs to Me was such a let down! The story line is a very good one and could have been an amazing story about a very rich fellow, Ryan, needing a heart transplant to live and this female stalker wanting the heart back. I found myself skipping page after page waiting for the book to blow me away. Unfortunatelly it never did! I was hoping the book would redeem itself with an explosive ending, but..... Will I still read Dean Koontz books? Absolutelly!!!! Maybe next time though I will get the book from my library.
