5.0 out of 5 stars Great flick, April 23 2004
"Jason Goes to Hell" takes a pleasant turn from cheesy slasher genre horror to an action movie. Starting off with an ultra-cool scene where a special FBI team blows Jason apart with bombs and machine guns, "The Final Friday" proves itself to be a worthy flick. The plot is relatively simple (I think it's been done before, but what the hell): Jason's body is gone so his soul goes into others' bodies and they turn into him. Like I said...simple.
There are a few parts where I was disappointed: I paid 7.50 to see this movie entitled "JASON Goes to Hell"...yet Jason was in the movie for a maximum of ten minutes. I was cheering with joy when the big lug came onscreen with his machete in the first few minutes, and I was cheering again when he returned at the end.
Jason seems to have lost his superhuman strength, as well: I mean, what the hell? Jason could have snapped that guy in half at the end but instead just toys around with him by whacking him a few times with a stick and a shovel (you'll see what I mean when you watch it).
There are a few plot holes, too: are we really supposed to believe that Jason has been body-hopping for all this time? (Though that might explain what happened to Paul in Friday the Thirteenth Part 2).
Something that really actually pleased me when I bought the DVD was the gore factor! Check out the unrated version and see what REALLY happens to the girl in the tent. Instead of just a little spray of blood, the Coroner impales her and rips her in half vertically.
I was also really pleased with the actors and actresses: Steven Williams was PERFECT for the role as Creighton Duke! I love that guy! He's funny, creepy, and awesome all at the same time. John De LeMay as Steven was great, too: he did well as the unlikely hero. And, as always, Kane Hodder did his thing as Jason Voorhees (for what little screen time he had).
Some memorable scenes include the police station scene, the diner shootout, and, naturally, as our generation of movie-loving people has come to call "the last 20 minutes".
My personal favorite part was the "finger-breaking scene" where Duke is giving Steven information for a "high-price" where he breaks Steven's fingers. "OH JEEZ!" That or when Steven shoots Robert in the head and all his black blood-brains splatter the wall.
Oh, yes, and about that gore factor? Watch the scene where Josh melts (yeah, you heard me). Bloodpuppies won't be disappointed.
All and all I was very, very, very pleased with "Jason Goes to Hell". So grab some beer, some food, and some buddies, turn off the lights, and watch an action movie with laughs, gore, good T&A (meow for Kathryn Atwood!), and a machete.
Later skaters! Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Movie, Takes a Little Long, But Still Great!, April 16 2004
Sebastian Kane is a scientist for a secret government organization. His ex-girlfriend Linda and her boyfriend Josh are his co-workers, as well are Sarah, Frank, and Carter. They work deep underground planning something secret. It's so secret, in fact, that a dozen other movies were made about it. It's called "The Invisible Man." Great movie, but I can get some more originality when I'm spanking it. Basically, Sebastian (Kevin Bacon, omg so sexy, no just kidding--Elizabeth Shue is hot!) volunteers himself to be a guinea pig for an invisibility serum and when he is unable to be brought back, he takes revenge on his co-workers in various Paul Verhoeven-gory fashions. Paul Verhoeven is a genius: he brought us classics like Starship Troopers, Robocop, Total Recall, and Basic Instinct, and this movie is going into those classics. It's scary (loved the dog scene), it's gory (loved when ___ is dropped onto the metal and it dices his throat open), and it's got a lot of high points to it (the fight between Sebastian and Josh is the best part). It's got good acting (loved the guy who played Carter--is he in anything else? The guy does good!), some sensual parts, some genuine "holy hell!" parts, and some good one liners ("And I thought killing you would be hard!"). Enjoy this flick! It's fast-paced, and great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sold! Andrew, you've done it again!, April 16 2004
This review is from: Wolf (Audio CD)
I bought this CD with very high hopes...and some of those hopes were fulfilled. I listened to you guys and I do agree--Andrew WK's insane litanies of "PARTY HARD!" and "I GET WET!" are long gone. Instead, calm choruses like "I wanna have a party" and "Tear it up, up, up!" are placed in and they do work well on some levels. "Long Live the Party" is everything that I expected it to be: a great song by a great guy. Tear It Up is a great song, as well is "I Love Music." I gave it 5 stars for those 3 songs, as well as "Victory Strikes Again." God, the man is a GENIUS!! lol. Anyone who thinks Andrew WK is an idiot can go screw a monkey, and while they're at it, they can pick up a copy of The Wolf and enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest CD Ever Recorded, April 15 2004
This review is from: I Get Wet (Audio CD)
This is my first review and I'm glad I'm able to review such a fantastic CD! Andrew W.K. may not be the most well-known or most-liked artist, but he certainly does know how to party and he does more than show us that in his album I Get Wet.
The Track Listings and a short summary of each:
1.) It's Time to Party: The best song about partying ever! It's fast, it's got a die-hard keyboard part, and it was written about the escalating situation in Iraq. Weird, huh?
2.) Party Hard: Hey, it's THAT song. Yeah, that's party hard. "Let's get a party going, now it's time to party and we'll party hard." Through an insane, inspiring litany of Party Hard-Party Hard, Andrew W.K. shows us that when you party, you're going to party hard.
3.) Girls Own Love: Simply said, a song that starts off a little slow but gets into ass-kick mode at about thirty seconds, and is about how girls can take our hearts and throw them away like a used condom.
4.) Ready to Die: One of the greatest songs on the CD, Ready to Die has a catchy rhythm to it, and also proves the point that when you've lived your life to the fullest, you're Ready to Die.
5.) Take It Off: A song that shows you can take off your phony, macho attitude and just be yourself because if you don't, you'll "get that black eye again." Lol.
6.) I Love NYC: Andrew's small homage to the great city of Manhattan.
7.) She Is Beautiful: (My sister HATES this song but it's the best on the CD). This song summarizes his feelings for a girl by chanting "she is beautiful" in the chorus over and over and saying he "ain't got nothin' to lose" if he asks her out.
8.) Party Til You Puke: Umm...party til you puke? Lol. Good song.
9.) Fun Night: A night of partying is also called a "fun night." You can thank Mr. Wilkes-Krier for that one.
10.) Got To Do It: This song is a little more mature than the rest, as is Track 12. It basically says that you shouldn't stop doing what you love and keep on doing it.
11.) I Get Wet: The Best adrenaline rush in the history of music. He said this on his website ([...]) that you will get wet in life, and that's true: you will get wet whether it be from sweat, blood, semen, or girls' lubricant, you will get...wet.
12.) Don't Stop Living in the Red: The most mature song on the CD, you should always live in the red zone of danger and hard parties.
I hope you liked my first review! Check it out for others, too. Later skaters, and PARTY HARD!!
