It sounds GREAT!, April 27 2004
This book sounds great, and - even though I haven't bought it - I really think I'm going to get it. Getting your horse to harmonize with you is a *VERY* important issue, and it sounds really intriguing. But, I do have one thing to say to another reviewer who commented about leading the horse in front of them:
You lead the horse walking in front, because you are showing him that YOU are the Leader, and he's the follower. If your horse spooks, he should *NOT* charge you or run you over. Why? Because if your horse really respects you as the *Lead Mare*, they wouldn't DARE step into your space.
Sorry to write so much, but sometimes... I just can't help myself ignoring those issues. Overall, this book sounds wonderfully written and done, and I'm planning on buying it as soon as I get the money. I would definently recommend it to anyone who has trouble with their horse and "Dominant" problems.
Ps- Frank Bell's 7-step Safety system is also good. My colt and I were both inexperienced and he was getting very dominant and having colt "Issues", so, we got a Frank Bell Instructor to come help us, and... he's been a completely CHANGED horse!
