Not for zombie fans........., Mar 23 2004
The cover of this movie really got to me, I thought it was one of the coolest looking covers I ever saw. When I found out this was a "zombie" movie, I had to see it. It turned out to be a big dissapointment, and alot of times I had to press fast forward or it would be too boring. What bothered me most besides the very cheap special effects (not including the eye gouge or the head shots), were probably the zombies themselves. These zombies are not really zombies, think of them as cannibals who only die when hit in the brain, that's basically what they are. Most of them don't look like zombies, and alot look too human to be zombies, which is why this movie was not fun to watch, they moved way too fast, and were way too smart to be zombies. They also felt pain and fear, which isn't realistic because zombies shouldn't feel pain considering their nerves are dead, they broke almost ever rule there is and that's the reason why I didn't really enjoy this. Some scenes were ok and some were just stupid, like zombies that aren't close to explosions being thrown away by the little blasts. There are alot of cliches in this, and if you seen Cannibal Ferox you know what will happen when the woman starts to lose it in front of the reporter. The ending was cool but you expected the reporter to actually do something, I'm not going to say what but watch it and you'll see that it was a dissapointment. Good to watch if you have nothing else to do, and maybe good for people that aren't fans of typical zombie films, but if you're a die-hard zombie fan you will be upset at what it did to the monsters.

It is one of the best!, Mar 22 2004
I was eager to watch this movie ever since I seen previews for it, the atmosphere is great!! The scenery really kicks in like in a Fulci zombie movie. There is plenty of gore in this and nudity as well. But the thing that was great were the zombies, they looked amazing, great makeup, and they are smarter this time around. These zombies can use weapons and cooperate with eachother to kill people, I thought that was pretty cool. A must see for fans of zombie movies, it really is among the best. This movie has alot of memorable scenes you won't forget. Incest between a woman and her son, yea you heard it correctly, and what he does to her when they "reunite" is pretty crazy too. Amazing atmosphere, great effects, one of the best for sure!

Don't be fooled by the cover!, Mar 20 2004
When I saw the cover for this movie, and stills from it I was expecting it to be a great zombie movie, but it turned out to be a boring zombie movie with alot of flaws and some cheap looking zombies. You heard the story already, I'll tell you about what made this horrible. The atmosphere doesn't do it, it is not creepy, take for instance Shock Waves with Peter Cushing, that movie has a creepy atmosphere and even though it doesn't have much gore it gets the job done especially with the cool looking zombies. The zombies in this movie look fake, with the exception of some of them, it doesn't make sense when you have zombies with their faces all bloodied up and their arms are perfectly clean. Something that got me mad about this movie was the way the zombies acted, it didn't make sense at all, for instance, in some parts of the movie the main characters were able to walk right by the zombies without being attacked, and other parts the zombies would go after them on site, and attack only certain humans which also didn't make sense. The ending is what probably got me the most dissapointed, from the scene where Moulsson is on the phone with Savini, that's where it gets on my nerves, but you'll see when you watch it. If you have you know what I'm talking about, this is ok to kill some time but it's a horrible film, I expected alot more. I only gave it two stars because of the scene where they close the car door on a zombies arm and drive the car with the zombie dragging by the side, that was too funny. So if you want to watch a bad movie, with bad acting and ok effects, then this is the movie to get the job done.

Don't be deceived!, Mar 14 2004
This was the most dissapointing horror film I have ever seen. The acting is HORRIBLE, I don't think most are even real actors, probably just friends of the movie maker. The camera is extremely horrible, it literally looks like a film students work, the camera is just way too plain like one you can go buy at the store, for those reasons alone DO NOT BUY THIS FILM!!! Some of the zombies look good, well their faces at least. They don't have raggy clothing like they should, it's stupid when they are wearing perfectly clean clothes with faces full of blood, it doesn't make sense. There's abit of blood, and a few scenes with gore but the way it was done was as bad as the acting. There is only one scene where you actually see violence in action without having to move the camera away, the rest of it is just blood squirting on the walls that doesn't even look like blood. If the camera was professional it might have been fun to watch, but it was done with a home recorded so it's not worth it at all. Not to mention that the girls in this movie are UGLY!!! There is no excuse for the showering scenes, come on they do closeups on a naked girl that is probably around 290 pounds!! That was sicker than the zombies! Just avoid this movie at all costs, it is just horrible, the only thing good about it is the relief you feel when you watch other movies, it makes you appreciate good movies!

Below my expectations....., Mar 13 2004
When I heard about this movie, I wanted to watch it for it's name alone, I felt nervous watching it because I thought it was going to be as frightening as other horror films involving religion. Now, the acting is very good, the scenery is amazing and eerie, it's what I expected to look like when I saw the cover of it. There is plenty of gore and in very gruesome ways, the subway scene is historic! There is one scene from this movie that is a really famous painting, let's see if you will know what scene I'm talking about. I liked the ending of the movie, it's a real twist, but I was expecting alot more. I kept saying to myself, this has to be the scene where the dead rise! But there are no zombies in this movie so don't expect any, there's alot of de javu in this, but I really expected more, like a battle between good and evil. The atmosphere couldn't have been any better, if you're a horror fan wanting to watch something different, with a really creepy atmosphere watch this movie. If you're looking for a horror movie with tons of action, look elsewhere, though this was fun to watch it leave me wanting to know more about what happened, that's probably the reason I wasn't too satisfied with it, because it leaves you wanting something. Oh and here's some advice, never go into a church with metal doors.

Disgrace to all true horror movie fans!!!, Mar 11 2004
Anybody who gives this more than 3 stars doesn't know anything about horror movies, and are probably just very young people who are amazed at seeing gore for the first time. Where to start? This has to be the most flawed movie I have ever seen, and as a huge fan of zombie movies it gets me mad to see people comparing this to the works of Lucio Fulci and George Romero. How stupid can they get? It begins with a bunch of young friends going together to a party, that's held on an island, called Isle Del Morte, or something along those lines. Anyways they don't explain how the zombies were created, you may think they do when Kirk (the captain) tells them about the Spanish, but he actually doesn't say much. I am not going to go deep into the story because there isn't really a story, most of the movie is spent shooting zombies. Here are a list of amazingly wrong things in this movie: - The acting was horrible by most of the people in this film, a girl gets thrown up on and it looks like she is laughing. - When Kirk lights up a cig on his boat it is raining, but when the camera goes to the people on the island there is no rain. Amazing isn't it? - The first zombies encountered look like mole people. - The short video game sequences shown every 10 minutes is not only annoying but so out of place and stupid. - Most of the humans deaths are off screen and not shown to the viewer. - The zombies can move fast, which they sure as hell shouldn't be doing, they can whistle, and get this, they can spit acid and jump in huge leaps!!! - One idiot in the film uses his camcorder even though his life is in danger. - When Kirk was telling the story about the Spaniards they spoke English, I wonder how if the zombie that was killed on the ship didn't know English when it met with a human? - The police woman tells Greg to come with her to hunt down zombies, but when they appear she tells him to run away. - Extremely cheesy closeups of the zombies and Greg when they are chasing him. - Kirk brought a box full of automatic weapons, as if he knew what he was headed for. If he did why did he go on the island in the first place? - Everyone that is given a gun knows how to fire it perfectly and aim dead on even though they obviously didn't use guns before. Not only can they do that, but they know KARATE!!! - If the ship was in the water and they were armed with tons of weapons why didn't they try to make it to the ship? - Most of the zombies are not shot in the head, but they still die, how can you break the biggest rule of zombies??? - The Matrix style camera angles are so annoying because they are used way too often in this movie, they literally do it every minute or so!!!!! How many times do we have to see the same thing??? - One of the dumbest things in the movie, is during the huge fight scene, the zombies walk around, and even walk past the humans without looking at them or even touching them, they wait till the humans are done shooting up other zombies then they move towards them!! How unrealistic is that? - The techno music is annoying and does not fit in with this movie, it destroys the little ammount of atmosphere that the movie had. - The zombies move very fast during some parts and very slow during others. - The director uses lame ways to show breasts in this movie. - This movie has no suspense at all. - The captain was bitten by a zombie but didn't turn into one! - When one of the guys shoots a zombie attacking the female police officer, the bullet does not go through the head of the zombie, but in other scenes bullets would go through numerous zombies, what gives? - The female police officer dies immediately after having both leggs chopped off a little bit above the knees, but there are no vital organs in your legs, you would die from loss off blood, but definately not that fast. - There's a corpse in the room but these people still have time to makeout? This movie was horrible, I wasted alot of my time watching it, don't take the good reviews seriously, they obviously don't know what a good horror movie is, the onlything I liked about this film was some of the zombies, and some of the gore scenes, you won't find anything else. Anybody can make a film about just killing monsters the whole time, horror these days is getting more uncreative everytime around. Not the best video game movie, probably one of the worst movies ever made.

Funniest out of the three., Mar 11 2004
Honestly I don't know how this got bad reviews, how can people say there were no laughs???? There were tons, this was the best in the series, I think they don't admit it because it has a 3 in the title and movies that get that far in a series tend to be dull in comparison to the original. But honestly, take a look at the people who gave this a 1 star rating, and check out other things they have reviewed, they are usually snobby critics who are into intelligent media, not that there's anything wrong with that, but of course you won't like movies like this because they were not made for people like you. Definately buy this movie, it has replayability and is really funny regardless of what anybody says.

Pretty good remake...., Mar 10 2004
The first movie was still alot better and more realistic, but this remake was very, very, good. But some parts were just downright stupid, which is why I didn't give this a 5. The suspense in this movie was great, it had you thinking what's going to happen next. Here's an example of stupidity in this movie:Ok, we're in the middle of nowhere, a girl just shot herself in our car, we get out to wait for the sheriff by a big old barn, its extremely dark inside the barn and something moves, LET'S GO INVESTIGATE!!!! What a smart idea! Alot of things could have been avoided, the sheriff was pretty old and the young people could have easily taken him on for his weapon but instead they get ready for the last minutes of their lives. Most of them at least. If you haven't seen the original, watch that first, then watch this film. It's really intense and the atmosphere is amazing. Horror fans must watch this, it's one of the best new horror films but still can't compare to the original. And anybody who tell's you different is a complete idiot!

Better than the first, alot better!, Mar 8 2004
Take peoples word for it when they tell you this is better than the first Rush Hour movie, even Chris Tucker is much funnier in this one. The movie is funny, not amazingly funny but you can expect for laughs than the first one. Though there's alot of stupid things in this movie it wasn't made to be serious, now really two guys fighting off 10 guys at once on several different occasions. The ending was not bad, it was a pretty cliche ending but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. After watching it, I am looking forward to a possibly Rush Hour 3 and I hope they make one, if you're into action/comedies this is a must watch.

Not close to the first movie!, Mar 2 2004
I was eager to see this movie because I loved the first one, but this was a huge dissapointment. The monster changed abit with the weapons he has and the things he can do, and now they say he "smells fear". There are no likable characters in the film just annoying ones like Scotty (I think that was his name), the jock who should have been done with alot earlier in the film. Don't expect much from this, the ending is dissapointing too, because I thought that it would end in a way where no more movies are made but it really didn't end like that. If you haven't seen the first DO NOT WATCH THIS!!! And if you don't watch horror movies regularly then don't watch this or ANY OTHER HORROR MOVIE! Horror movies are for fans of horror movies only, I hate seeing fans of other genres of more serious films bashing horror movies. These movies were not made for you do don't watch them, if you're not a fan of other horror movies why would you watch any at all??? Anyways if you are a huge horror movie fan watch this just to know about the movie and see some nice gruesome scenes, but don't watch it if you're not a horror movie fan.
