2.0 out of 5 stars I'm an Assassin's Creed fanboy and I can't believe how terrible this game is, Dec 10 2012
Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This series is, by far, my most favourite gaming series. I burnt out on gaming back in 2004 but Assassin's Creed 2 brought me back to it in 2011 and I've been hooked to this series (and gaming again) ever since. AC1 was intriguing but repetitive. AC2 was EPIC. The best in the series. It was simply a masterpiece. Brotherhood was almost as good. Revelations was not bad but easily forgiven because we all knew they were building AC3 so that was just a time-pass.

I always had doubts about the setting/time of 3 and boy was I right. It's uninspiring, dull and most of the game is one big open land which isn't everything the series is: gorgeous, detailed, exotic city-scapes. But that's just the tip of the iceberg of the awfulness of this entry. It's buggy, always feels disjointed and half-finished, the character and story are...well...garbage, the music is terrible (the earlier composer left...probably knowing how bad 3 was turning out), the combat is terrible, the menus suck...every single thing about this game is bad. It doesn't deserve the "Assassin's Creed" title. At all.

My advise is to stay away from this entry and go back and play the old ones. If you're new to the series, start there as well. There are MUCH better games out there right now.

Stay away from this game.

1.0 out of 5 stars A great game completely rendered useless by anti-consumer policies, May 25 2012
Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Diablo 3 (Computer Game)
Look. This is a Diablo game. Which means it's a good game.

But enough about that.

This game needs a always-on internet connection to play. In single player. That's right. My internet was out all day today so I had to sit and stare at the game disc, wishing in vain that I could play a SINGLE-PLAYER game. This is pathetic. It's anti-consumer. It reeks of a lack of respect for customers. They want our money and yet they want to control what we do.

Stay away from this game. We have to make a stand against such policies or very soon you will find yourself stuck at home with a stack of single-player games that won't work because your internet connection is out.

Ridiculous. Shame on you, Blizzard.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's not Assassin's Creed 2 BUT it's still epic, Dec 31 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I never bothered playing AC1. I went straight to 2 and then last year's Brotherhood and have never looked back. This series has become my most favourite game series and Revelations was therefore a lock for me. I knew going in that this would be "more of the same" since Ubisoft has already said this is a stop-gap release while they word on next year's AC3, which will...well, should be...a major leap forward for the series.

That said, Revelations is still one of the greatest games I have played this year. It does play like Brotherhood but the setting is completely new. It's exotic, it's warm, it's sunny and has a level of detail never seen before. There is a million things to do, the storyline is better than that of Brotherhood, and you simply have to buy this just to see the visuals and take-in 1506 Constantinople, a gorgeous blend of Christian-European-Byzantine culture with Islamic Turkish culture. The people you will meet are amazing. The new bomb making system is ridiculously fun and the Assassins Training system is finally what it needed to be.

Do yourself a favour. Buy it. You will be thankful that you did. Don't skip this.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS is the game that we all have been waiting for and YOU should play too!, Dec 24 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Rayman Origins (Video Game)
We have all been playing some amazing games lately...Mass Effects, CoDs, Gears of Wars etc. But something was missing. All these games are serious games. Lots of killing, lots of tech environments and lots of grey.

Rayman: Origins shows us what was missing. Colour. This game is a sight to behold. Even if you don't want to play a platformer/scroller, buy it to test out your HD equipment. You will drag your wife/neighbour/friends to your living room just to show them what current gen graphics with colour can look like.

it also helps that the game is AMAZINGLY fun. it's never very tough or very easy...it's perfectly balanced and it's a total blast.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS GAME.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Halo will surprise you. It's really good., Oct 30 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Halo 3: ODST (Video Game)
I had played Halo 1 and 2 back in the 2003-2004 era and then had left gaming only to return this year with an Xbox 360. So I picked up Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST. I have always heard that ODST is not a good game or it's not in keeping with Halo tradition. But I was still curious.

My curiosity was rewarded.

In normal Master Chief Halos, you always feel in charge...you are like a tank and you engage in epic battles and usually always make it out with barely a scratch. But this one is more emotional, more connected,...harder...more harrowing. You take command of a characters who are mere soldiers doing their best to fight the war. Often you will pull back from a battle because you simply can't fight them or you want to change tactics. This is a thinking-man's Halo. You FEEL the Covenant, you FEEL the story.

Don't listen to others. Play this game. Let yourself judge it. I assure you you will feel an emotional attachment to it like no other Halo. It has a soul. It makes you work hard and peek around corner wondering if you have ammo or where you will possibly find some health or help.

Amazing and hoping for another ODST.

4.0 out of 5 stars I thought it was "only an expansion pack". Was I wrong!!!, Sep 3 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I loved Assassin's Creed 2 which i played earlier this year. It ranks as one of the best games I have ever played. Then when i picked up Brotherhood, I went into this game thinking it will be simply more of the same. I was completely wrong. Not only does it look and even sound better but arguably has the most amount of things to do in any video game ever. It makes GTA4 look boring. The main story itself continues where 2 left off but it's the side quests and freeing Rome from oppression and upgrading which i super fun! And having your own little army of assassins and calling them for lighting strikes when needed has to be the best new feature any sequel has ever done.

This game is like fine Italian wine. You will savour it. It is simply amazing an amazing title and inspite of my skepticism about it going in, somehow Ubisoft has managed to amaze me with this title. This is CLEARLY Ubisoft's flagship series now and they know it and you feel it throughout the game. The level of polish and detail and love put into this game makes Mass EFfect feel like a mobile phone game.

Play it. But please make sure you play it on the Xbox 360. This game was clearly meant for this console.

The ONLY reason I'm giving this 4 stars and not 5 is because 85% of the game takes place in Rome. But that's not a negative per se. Just feels a bit limited.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spectacular game...maybe the most "all-new" game I have played since GTA3, July 30 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: LA Noire (Video Game)
I had a lot of doubts about this game...I read a lot of the negative comments and I figured it's probably a very linear and controlled game. I picked up the game because I saw my brother enjoying the game and started playing it for myself. Initially, for the first hour, I felt it was indeed quite a controlled and linear game...but oh boy...once the training wheels came off, it turned into what I think is easily the most unique and "new" gaming experience I have had since GTA3 back in 2001 introduced me to a world which never seemed to end.

The game requires patience. It requires you to think, it requires you to go through some menial and reparative tasks that come with the territory of being a detective. But the rewards come flowing through during the interrogations. It's probably more exciting to conduct those than play an FPS game. Don't believe me? Try it.

I think a lot of the negative reviews are coming from either people who get bored too easily and expected a CSI: Miami style of game or from people who simply had expectations that were too high.

Go into the game without any pre-conceptions. You will be very glad you did. I'm halfway through the game right now and dread the day I will finish all the cases. Thank goodness for all those DLCs Rockstar keeps making available! P.S - Get the PS3 version if you have both consoles. It's on one-disc and runs smoother.

Enjoy the game. It's something gaming has too little of today: it's something entirely new.

Thank you, Rockstar. Please find an enclosed cheque for L.A.Noire 2!

5.0 out of 5 stars Whatever doubts I had about this game went away after 2 minutes of actually playing it!, Jun 11 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I played SC1 and Chaos Theory on the original Xbox way back in the day. Loved the series but always felt it lacked style and kinda became a drag after a while. But I liked the formula and pacing. I always figured the new one had been changed to become too action-centric and ditch what made the old game really great. Boy was I wrong! It is a fantastic balance of stealth and take-your-time gameplay combined with cinematic flourishes and fast-paced sequences. Amazing graphics...some of the best presently out and it's 2011 June! The menus and presentations are something you have to see to believe and the music and levels are just phenomenal. Just give it a shot. You will be thankful you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product. Amazing delivery by Amazon!, May 14 2011
I just got this product and it is a STEAL for $116 for 2TB of storage. It ordered it on Wednesday evenings and qualified for free shipping and got it on Friday morning. Amazing.

The product itself is beautiful. It seems to have a brushed steel chassis and is good looking, fairly light and quite small! It hooked up to my two Windows 7 PCs without any fuss and smoothly did the backups and folder transfers. There is a large soft-white LED light that blinks when in use. Love that it has a ON/OFF switch so I can turn it off to save power when I don't need it. Also glad it comes with a stand since it allows me to prop it up. Great product! Great price. And Amazon keeps doing a FANTASTIC job of shipping and prices. Very thankful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing amazing game that surprised me!!!, Mar 20 2011
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Back in the PS2 era, I played GTA3 the day it came out and to this day it remains the greatest game I've ever played. The I played Vice City but skipped San Andreas as I was tired of the formula (and gaming in general). That was 2004. In 2010, last October to be exact, I came back to gaming and after playing Mass Effect and Assassins Creed 2 (both incredible experiences), I wasn't sure if I would like another GTA game. So I picked up this disc for old time's sakes and started playing it. Right away it was clear that although it was another GTA game, it was somehow...SOMEHOW one of the greatest games I had ever played. It's the detail...the cars...the cities...the characters...I can't really explain it. It's an amazing game and if you skip this, then you might as well sell your console and take up stamp-collection or bird watching. This edition also comes with the two DLCs so it's a great value. I've played 40hrs of GTA4 so far and I'm 40% done. And I havn't popped in the second disc, which contains the two DLCs, yet.

P.S - I HIGHLY recommend installing the game to the Xbox 360's HDD. The game runs quiter, faster and smoother. Totally worth it. The Xbox 360 version also looks MUCH sharper, cleaner and more colourful compared to the PS3 version. You have been warned :)
