First Shot - Best Shot, July 12 2004
Those who think this is his best record speak the truth. This is the most consistent of the records and still kicks butt to this day! I'd definitely recommend this as a first purchase - even over the compilation.

One Of His Best, July 12 2004
I really like the sound of this record. It breaks a bit of a mold for the Rev. and his band. "Lie Detector" should be cranked up as loud as possible.

Good Odds and Ends Collection, July 12 2004
Some fine rock and roll here, as usual. Coffee Monkey is my favorite pick, but I was a true coffee addict at the time. Recommended for any Bottle Rockets fan!

Almost Everything You Need, July 1 2004
Finally, good sounding ZZ Top on CD. This has almost everything you need. The only downfall is that they concentrated so much on the latter albums the first record has just a few tracks and really could have used more representation. Also, it probably could have been cut down to 3 CDs as well. Otherwise, a fine set!

Great overview of early DC punk!, Jun 24 2004
This is a great sampler and overview of early DC / Dischord punk rock. It's a bit withering to listen to the whole thing at once, but as a sampler it really works well and intices you to seek out the individual artists. Recommended as a good historical document as well.

Pretty good Dylan - not his peak., Jun 24 2004
This was a retreat for Dylan. After his accident, he no longer was breaking barriers and this was a retrenchment away from rock and roll and back into a simpler sound. It's quality music, but not Dylan at his peak and most adventurous.

Glad they're back!, Jun 24 2004
I am glad the Mission of Burma is back. The dynamic and tension is still there, and the songwriting is excellent. A fine return from a band oft-forgotten.

PJ! PJ! PJ!, Jun 24 2004
This is a fantastic record! It returns PJ back to her roots. The spartan sound works with these songs. I recommend this highly. If this was her debut, people will be frothing at the mouth about how good this record is!

Don't need anything else., Jun 24 2004
If you know of Focus, and are just a casual fan, then this is all you need. They definitely have more depth than just "Hocus Pocus" but in reality this is a good overview of their career.

Another winner!, Jun 24 2004
This is another great album from the Bottle Rockets. This is really what rock and roll is meant to be. They know how to cut loose and have a good time at what they are doing. Long live the Bottle Rockets!
