The pinnacle of Dylan!, April 16 2004
Bob has made several excellent albums, but this is the pinnacle. Every cut is a classic and the sound is timeless. If you don't have any Dylan - start here!

OK Power Pop, April 16 2004
The only thing special to me about this was the fascination with women's names in song titles. There's some good melodies and catchy tunes, but the whole record got samey after a few spins. Still, a decent effort with some redeemable songs.

A Minor Gem, April 16 2004
After losing their major label contract, TPOH winds up in Canada and makes this fun record. It's got some good songs and is a minor gem, but doesn't quite stack up to Love Junk or One Sided Story. Recommended for love slaves!

Beastie's best! A classic!, April 16 2004
This is the pinnacle of the Beastie's work. A fun trip of samples, attitude, and sounds. Everything they've done since then is just catching up to this work. It has some of the snottiness of their early stuff and the sonic adventure of their later stuff. A must own for any collection, even if you don't like hip-hop!

Good fun from when they were snotty!, April 16 2004
This record is just great fun. There's no significant artistic message here - it's just a fun, snotty, loud record. And there's nothing wrong with it. It IS an anomalous record in the Beastie's catalog - and there's nothing wrong with that, either.

Decent, but cluttered., April 16 2004
This is a decent record, but for my ears it is too cluttered. The Beasties definitely need an edit feature - they could make another Paul's Boutique if they excised some of the superflouous stuff.

Good Poster Children Sampler, April 15 2004
This has some great songs, and because it's an EP it doesn't drag itself into the normal Poster Children trap of being monotonous as the record goes along. If you are interested in hearing them, pick this up.

Moving forward, at their own pace., April 15 2004
This record shows a maturing Fugazi moving forward. Yet to me it's not as immediate, compelling, or vital as their earlier work. It's good to know a band can move forward without compromising, not that Fugazi ever would.

Pretty good, not their best., April 15 2004
Of course, several bands would make their careers on this type of record. Fugazi seems to be losing some steam, which is normal for a band with a long career. It's not that they're going through the motions, it's just that it's that hard to keep a real edge after 10 years.

The start of the DC Reinassance, April 15 2004
These two EPs really signalled a new era in DC. Memories of Minor Threat and other bands were just that, memories, and nothing much compelling was coming out. Fugazi, however, changed all that. This is fine work that holds up over their later releases, and keeps a good energy level up all the time.
