5.0 out of 5 stars good product, Dec 30 2013

It seems to work well. You do have to follow the instructions and use it at least 2x a day. The grips are handy and the steel bends well to whatever angle you may need to cover your tongue while scraping. The shipping was fast. I would recommend trying this to anyone.

It's amazing how close to the original the guys came with this, and yet, still were able to throw in some different nuances to the music without changing it to the point that would ruin the experience that we all remember while enjoying this cd back in the days (and now). That being said, a few changes were a little harder for me to ignore, mainly the very beginning of the cd on "Saviours Never Cry" with the guitar intro, where it seems it was mixed way further back in the mix, instead of the "in your face" beginning I am used to and love. Also, "Just Like I Planned" has been changed from an acapella song into an acoustic based track with Harry singing the lyrics. I would think they did this maybe because they found doing an acapella track nowadays is dated, and the new version works so it's good to hear. I guess it's a fine line between sticking to the original recordings and doing something new enough that we diehard fans can justify spending the cash on buying this record again. The bonus tracks are good, but IMO I don't think they are as reminiscent of the original tracks as they were going for. Still, any new tracks are very welcome regardless!

The dvd portion is great, getting to see the guys at work in the studio and talking about this major endeavor they have taken on. As always though, way too short and I would have liked to see more than what was on there.

All in all, a must have for all Scarem fans and rock fans alike!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bonus tracks worth it!, Jan. 2 2011
This review is from: The Sound Of Madness (Audio CD)
Everyone who wanted this cd pretty much has it, since it's initial release. I even had the "fan club edition" with the 3 bonus tracks, which were all amazing. Now comes this double/triple dip into our pockets. But guess what? It's worth it! The inclusion of the Rock Band 2 exclusive track, "Junkies For Fame", is enough to have any Shinedown fan alone grabbing this version up. You also get the amazing soundtrack offerings "Her Name Is Alice" and "Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)", plus acoustic version of "Second Chance" and "Breaking Inside" featuring a duet with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. The only track I would have left off is the "Pull remix" of "The Crow And The Butterfly", as all it does it loosely follow the main track of the song and add atmospheric melodies and rhythms which don't really follow the heart of the song. Plus, don't forget, you get all the other amazing tracks on the cd, including the 3 fan club edition ones. 20 tracks in all, plus a dvd behind the scenes chat with the lead singer and all the videos. You can't go wrong!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chickenfoot Oh Yeah, June 7 2010
This is a very well shot video of an excellent concert, with the band performing all of their hits and a few classics. Very tight performance by the band, and you can tell they are having fun! The blu-ray is crystal clear and the audio is mixed well. One of the great things about this dvd is that the camera shots are not quick cuts, dizzying the viewing like a lot of the later videos that have come out and seem to be the style, which I find annoying. If Joe Satriani is doing a solo, you get to actually see him doing his solo up close, without them panning away to another player or the audience. Go get your buzz on and buy this dvd!!!
