Another quirky mystery, Jan. 25 2006
Charlaine Harris's Grave Sight is a quirky mystery combining a paranormal southern gothic with a decent whodunnit story. A fan of her Stookie Stackhouse and Lily Bard series, I found that she again has created a protaganist who is both strong and vulnerable, victim and hero, likeable but with flaws. The mystery is a straight forward murder mystery with just enough red herrings to keep from being obvious. The jewel in this story however is the paranormal skills of the protaganist and how they unfold throughout the book that lifts it beyond a run of the mill whodunnit. I look forward to another story about Harper Connelly and her intriguing brother.
