FANTASTIC!!, Mar 4 2013
USB Powered!! Just so handy, and great. 3 brightness settings. $15 and worth every penny! Will likely buy another couple soon. Get yours today!! Oh, don't use it in battery powered mode. I put 4 AA Alkalines in it, and they were drained after only 2 days of non full use. I suppose if you need a cordless for one evening out and don't care about the battery cost... then again, it's well worth it.

Somewhat disappointed..., Mar 4 2013
Three Stars for Effort, even though it was a poor attempt. I was a HUGE ELP fan back in my early to late 20s, in the 70s ad just flip side of the 80's. Yep, they were right up there with the other cream of the crop. I've played guitar for very many years myself, eventually needing to leave it due to medical reasons. Reading the footnotes, and going further via the internet, we find out tht ELP slacked off for a pile of years, living like royalty for many years... but now, even though still likely set for life, they could use a few more million each. Let's get back together, do ONE concert and release it on A CD, DVD Film, etc. But the problem is, they didn't keep up playing all those years, not even solo to any great extent. Sooo, as is often said applies to ELP here. Don't use it, you lose it. While they still remember all their Ancient material (how could they not when they played it live hundres or thousands of times). Sorry to say, but because they didn't keep playing all these years they were living it up, they all got seriously RUSTY, and this concert sounds pretty horrible in general. Just because they are who they WERE, shouldn't mean they can come back out of practice, and expect to make multi million$ doing ONE-OFF Concert. I'm real unhappy that I paid for this. I would've rather downloaded it somewhere, watch it.. get disgusted, then delete it again. You guys were GRAND back in the good old days, but now you're a trio of old washed up fogies who don't deserve to be enriched AGAIN for your poor performance. I also bought the new Deep Purple Live Concert at Montreaux. Now THAT was a concert and a half. The 2-3 original members can still pump it out. and there's the difference between continuin your craft for the sake of enjoying playing... and not just laying back, quitting, no longer playing, and living off the cash. Deepe Purple Originals are 70ish years of age and still going. These guys aren't in it for the money, obviously. ELP was, Obviously... and came back for another few million to add to the nestegg, to see them through to their END. Sad, but true.

Old? Disabled? Both Old and Disabled?, Jan 21 2013
This is Perfect!! I often drop things under my computer table etc., or things end up in the most precarious places that would require me going back 30+ years in order to be in proper physical shape to reach things without falling on my head and killing myself. So this item is Excellent! Can pick up items around 5 pounds at a time... but what more do you need? Very handy to have beside you, or get 2 or 3 or more and keep them around the house where most needed. I couldn't do without now. BUY IT!!

What can one say?, Jan 21 2013
It's a water kettle! It heats water! Ideally for Tea and/or Coffee, or anything else for that matter and at 1.7 Litre, that's an excellent size for any application. VERY FAST hot water. BUY IT!!

Followup to Elizabeth, Jan 21 2013
Cate Blanchett is most excellent, again, as she was in the first of two; Elizabeth. Not the best reviewer in the world, and rating this one caught me off guard. But if you're going to buy and view this one, you must do likewise for the first, else you're only seeing half the story, this one being 2 of 2. Once again, it's just excellent, true to life. Buy it!!

ANY Hendrix Video is a MUST!, Sep 3 2011
This is the man who CHANGED how The Guitar has been played, since he came on the scene. More than any other guitarist before and after him, he has inspired many generations and continues to do so in many walks of life. Yes, there are always those who could care less, preferring to follow some other genre etc., but even still, when you listen to other genres, every now and then you'll hear a phrase or a lick that undoubtedly "IS" Jimi Hendrix inspired. Even if the one playing didn't mean it to be so, or doesn't realize it. It's just there. The same holds true for musicians of the Classical/Medieval era. Now and then their own style will bring out something you'd hear by Mozart, Bach, Handel, Telemann, etc. Any video available of Jimi Hendrix is a MUST HAVE. His music CDs are also great, but it does bring out WHO he was and his general demeanor and the way he got along with everyone. The sad part about people like this, are that the general public who adore them, want a PIECE of them, never considering that person's feelings, that they also deserve some time to themselves. That's usually what kills them off at a young age. Not only drugs. Anyway, I'm rambling again. Just BUY ANY Video of Hendrix. Even if the sound and quality is crappy. Remember, the recording technology for the times, and your ears can get through it. Just watching The Master is the reward all by itself. Jimi died when I was just 16... but his masterful command of the guitar which could easily be said "was not of this world" or " way beyond its time", inspired me to the point that I still listen and play his music (among many others) to the best of my ability, now at age 56. ------------- In ending and off topic, I HAVE to say this. Something which I probably cannot change, but still drives me nuts. People who write "Must of been" or "Would of been", etc. Wherever did you people get this from? The word "of" just doesn't belong! It doesn't fit into the context! The educational system is the pits now, AND kids just don't care. The proper way is "Must HAVE been" or "Would HAVE been". If you want to abbreviate it, use Must've or Would've. Anything other just doesn't belong, and makes the writer look uneducated. Sorry, had to get that off my chest lol. Like people who spell Ect. instead of Etc. The word is Etcetera, not Ectetera. *sigh*

Fan from the 70's, Nov 27 2010
Anyone who claims to be a fan from the 70's (like I also am), and says things like "Ian Anderson's voice is not getting any better", being a musician myself for many years, I have to question the true age of the person making the comment. Ian Anderson was born in 1947, this is a 2010 release. That means he's now 63. How many heavy rockers do you know that can belch it out like they did 30+ years ago, at 63? NONE! There's this problem us humans go through, called aging, where everything breaks down, especially if you abuse it nonstop all your life, if you catch the drift. I've heard Martin Barre mention how he must keep playing or his hands would seize up..(Have also heard Alex Lifeson say that)..I can attest to this as I've played guitar since age 9, 1964. 46 years takes its toll...but as long as I keep going, unless I'm super unlucky and get bad arthritis, things will become very stiff and it just won't work anymore. Amyway, this is supposed to be a review. This is another awesome concert...and yes I love hearing the same old songs, because there's always a little something different each time it's played. Might be very minute, or it might extend onwards for an extra minute of improv....that's what makes it such a pleasure to watch or listen to over and over. Besides, how many REAL musicians squawk about hearing the same OLD MASTER'S pieces being played by every orchestra, and various soloists? None that I know of. I still listen to Classocal, and play along or play solo more than I play Rock now. That's what happens to some once they're older and have mellowed out. :) Merry Cheistmas to one and all, and all the best in 2011!

Still Rolling, Josh..., Oct 4 2010
Yes, I absolutely must agree with Josh Turnpike. I'm an old geezer now myself. Jimi had 8 years on me. He would've been 68 now had he lived. I started playing guitar at age 9, so by the time Hendrix hit the scene in North America (he was made famous in England, when he played in some clubs, doing Clapton covers, and better than he could play them heh) I had to know more, and this gift from God sent me on a journey, far past his own short existence. Obviously I got into other things, but Hendrix is still counted on my first hand of all time greats. You are correct about Jimi rolling in his grave. They released all kinds of stuff that Jimi NEVER would have. Once he was gone, all the greedy shysters just wanted MONEY, and quality didn't matter....what else is new. Then after Jimi's father died, it really went to hell on a grease slide...and now we're at the point where all the young crowd who weren't there when Jimi was alive, only get to hear what he never would have released. It's unfortunate. Good thing the old originals are still being sold. those are the ones that today's youth who enjoy Hendrix, should listen to...and they should try and pitch the new stuff, because it really isn't how Jimi would have wanted to be remembered. All these new releases are just big business. Cash in on Jimi to keep these hagfish (parasites) sucking the life-blood from all the master tapes, so they never run out of food, while sitting on their butts. It's a real shame. We will never see another one like Jimi again. He was a one off, and I truly believe of the same quality as the old masters. Bach, Mozart, Handel, etc. Not quite the same music, but the same iconoclastic abilities. Frank Zappa was another such Iconoclast, and a true composer in every sense of the word. There will always come new amazing talent, but the frequency of such gifted ones who change the world of music, and captivate so many that they go down in history and are remembered like the Old Masters, belong to a very small club. All the others we label Genius don't even rate by comparison. They come and go, and are forgotten with the passing of 2-3-4 generations. Jimi Hendrix will be remembered for Centuries to come. There's the difference. Same as The Beatles, for sure Frank Zappa. Maybe the Rolling Stones, but I wouldn't put my money on them for a lasting recognition far into the future. As a consolation, it is refreshing to see kids today, who grew up with RAP and all that stuff that I would label what my parents labelled Jimi Hendrix (NOISE! haha) recognize and love Jimi's music. That would be the only reason I could allow myself to see and hear the junk releases that do more to insult the memory of Jimi, than to honour his creative genius. Keep on Rockin'!! Let's bring back MUSIC, and push the talk-to-a-beat crap into the bin out back. It's not music. It may have it's place, but requires zero genius and not much talent, if at all. That's MY Bias, and I'm entitled to it. :) Sue me.

Just to clarify, Sep 29 2010
I can't imagine anything by Rush to be of poor quality. Having been able to play ALL of their songs note for note (no joke) in their first 17 years (afterwhich medical problems forced me to stop playing guitar, CRY). I played from the age of 9 until 36. Anyway this review is not about myself. Rush was and will always be #1 for myself, and millions of others around the globe. There's many awesome bands, but this trio has paid their dues, and deserve whatever praise for their hard work and perseverence, even after going through heart wrenching odds. I hope they'll be able to do another couple of albums, even if age makes them stop touring. I'm only 1 year younger than them, 2-3 than Neil, I believe. heh. The Main point I wanted to make about what Amazon says here, is concerning Neil Peart being a Co-Founder. He is NOT. If you watch Beyond the lighted Stage DVD, he's known as "The New Guy". It's a joke they throw around, but it's also the truth. John Rutsey was a Co-Founder, as he was the First, original Drummer. Neil came later on once they were already popular. Founder is Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee is a Co-Founder. If John Rutsey didn't suffer from Bad Diabetes at a young age, he likely would've been Rush's Drummer still today, and Neil... well, who knows. :P Personally I'm happy they ended up with Neil and felt bad for John Rutsey (RIP). But, them's the breaks. Buy this 3-DVD...you won't be disappointed.
