Glorious Glorious. How happy I am that I purchased this cake baking book....after 20+ years of home baking I have finally found a recipe book which is well presented, accurately edited and still produces amazingly subtle and wonderful flavours with each cake....I have baked 9 and each one a "raving" success. The icing itself is full of
nuances and suggestions of other worldyness..es.
The cover indicates exactly what is inside, honest, hand made with refined, elegant touches. If I wanted each of my cakes to look like I had spent 20 years as a professional baker, that would be an entirely different matter. Fiona has shown she is able to create for both worlds, with grace, ease and style suited for each of these worlds.
Fiona Cairns has published a recipe book that speaks to my taste buds and those of my "tasting possie", who now phone often to check what I am baking next... Thank you Fiona for taking the time to share your craft and inside information..e..g. 1T flour stops eggs curdling butter and sugar....who knew!
