Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Monster Hunter Tri is a decent enough game if you have a group of friends to tackle it with, unfortunately they Capcom took the Wii servers offline so this game is strictly a single player experience now which takes away a lot of the fun.

Mixed bag, Jan 26 2013
I bought two of these product. The first one that arrived was great, was the right size if a case was on the phone and closed well. The second was of a completely different construction, the case was shorter, so much so that the case will not close properly with the phone in it. The sides of the case are even made from a different material. SO buyer beware depending on which version of the product you get, you might be disappointed, I don't understand the vast difference in the same product ordered from the same seller.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen., Oct 1 2012
I just don't even know where to begin with this mess of a movie. Pseudo-intellectualism at it's best, I guess would be a good way to start. I'm all for making political statements in movies, but when they are so transparent, numerous and ultimately not really tied to the actual movie plot, they aren't very poignant and just come off as half baked ideas. Think crazy, old, ranting uncle the movie, he's mad about a lot of things but can't really make a coherent argument about any of them. Speaking of the plot what a mess, the director tried to pull off a "divergent story lines that come together at the end" sort of thing, but it falls flat. This is due to the nonsensical nature of most of the story lines, I get that the movie has sci fi elements, but the movie does not establish the world's setting well enough to justify some of the insane things that happen in it. Some of the weirdness is supposed to be chalked up to the movie being a comedy, I tend to label movies comedies if they're funny, not if they do weird things that may or not be normal things to do in this weird sci fi universe. It isn't particularly well acted or directed, with weird scenes included for no reason other than being weird for weird's sake, such as Justin Timberlake lip syncing a Killers song for some reason. Maybe it was supposed to be ironic that a solder was singing "I got soul but I'm not a soldier"? Is that what passes for satire these days? For every one of these scenes it seems that an actually important scene was cut where things were explained, or themes were more well explored. This director seems to want to create the kinds of movies that the Nolans can pull off, with a twist, or explanation at the end that make the rest of the movie make sense in hindsight, but is just unable to do so. If anything, as In his previous work Donnie Darko, after the twist things make less. Any deep thought about the logic behind the movie yields the realization that, there is no deeper meaning, the movie is just insultingly dumb. On the plus side it stars more B-D list actors you probably enjoy seeing and have wondered what they've been up to for the past 5+ years. Do yourself a favour, and do not watch this movie. To those who would say that the movie is really deep and I just "didn't get it". I got it, but there just wasn't anything compelling to get, bible references and being meta, does not make a good movie. The movie, at it's core is a c-grade made for tv sci-fi movie plot wrapped in a convoluted mess of story telling with needless sub plots, and film making. When three graphic novels are released to help make sense of a movie, you did something wrong.

Mediocre combat with awful platforming., Feb 3 2011
Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
Well my review title pretty much says it all Afro Samurai has problems. The first is that the combat is not all that deep, button mashing is about as effective as trying more advanced techniques and the game never really encourages you to use more advanced techniques. While fighting is the majority of the game there are a few platforming sections, which are broken to the point of being extremely frustrating. Frequent check pointing and seemingly no penalty for falling off cliffs offset this somewhat but failing over and over again due to poor controls, and poorly timed scripted events is infuriating. In addition the story does not do a good job of explaining the story at all, instead assuming the gamer has watched the anime before. You'll understand the story in the broadest sense but thats about it.

Decent console game, Dec 3 2010
Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
If you enjoyed the gritty realism of call of duty 4, you'll probably be disappointed by the over the top insanity that is modern warfare 2. The story jumps the shark early and often changing the world from a possible near future to a Michael Bay movie, even including a scene that is pretty much the exact same shower scene from "The Rock". Its hard to invest too heavily in the story when the villain is a unrealistic archetype whose ultimate plan doesn't really make any sense if you think too long about it. On the other hand if you like watching things blow up real good this is probably the game for you. The multiplayer is disappointing on the consoles due to the aggravating glitches and exploits, and its debatable if its even worth playing on PC without dedicated servers. Though if you can look past these issues you'll find a competitive multiplayer scene you can get into. Spec ops mode is a good replacement for not having coop in the main story. Overall I'm not sure I like the change in tone in the franchise but the same great gameplay (other than the Rio level)that was in previous instalments of COD exists here.

Generic FPS, Dec 3 2010
Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Quake 4 is very much the successor to the previously quake games, unfortunately in the mean time the FPS genre on the whole moved forward and Quake 4 seems antiquated. There isn't much variety in terms of the gameplay, mission objectives or story (other than the early twist) its pretty standard fare. That being said if you're looking for a game in which you just want something to shoot and can find it for a low price, Quake does what it sets out to do competently.

Great quality headset, Dec 3 2010
I've had a lot of headsets in my time and usually something goes wrong with them either they're uncomfortable, or the wires break internally and you lose sound in one ear or the mic stops working. These headsets are really comfortable they rest on your head and around your ears, the sound quality is good and in terms of durability they can't be beat.

Stay Away, Nov 23 2010
Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
First off I played all the way through game...and it sucks. I'm a fan of Jrpgs that have real time battle systems like Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia. The battle system here is much like them and works fine. The problem is you have absolutely no incentive to keep playing this game. The story is god awful and goes nowhere. People say some parts were cut from this version but put into the ps3 version to have it make more sense. Yeah? Guess what that didn't help me any as I played through and witnessed this pointless and confusing story. It's like they were leading some where on the original story arc realised they were running out of development time and slapped on another games ending...I'm serious 5/6 of the way through the story jumps the shark with no explanation. Not that the story up to that point was riveting or anything, a complete snore fest. All the characters have no depth and are just the regular rpg sterotypes but made super cutsie, complete with their annoying voice actors. I got to a point where whenever the main heroine started talking I wanted to hear nails on a chalkboard in her place. The dialogue has that "translated from another language" vibe going on where nothing sounds quite natural and everyone states the obvious over and over again just to make sure the player gets it. It is also really pretentious, characters dwell on vague concepts and rhetorically ask themselves existential questions...imagine a 2nd year film student and a 1st year philosophy student duo writing only dialogue and you get an idea of what it sounds like...it is just so pretentious it gets tiring. I can understand why the demo made some people think it might be a good game...not sure why they'd write a review having only played the 20 minutes demo...and not experiencing the truly awful story. In sum don't buy this game, save yourself from a unfulfilling boring quest with unlikeable characters. If you want a rpg try out Tales of Vesperia, Mass effect 2, Fallout 3, pick up a port of chrono trigger, anything but this.
