This album to me is all over the place soundwise. Some songs have depth others don't. Some songs have upper end detail others don't. Some songs are dynamic some are not. The vinyl seems just a little more dynamic than the CD, but not much. It's not a satisfying listen for the most part. The vinyl itself is very good not much surface noise.

The music is good but the Vinyl sucks. The CD actually sounds better than the Vinyl. The Vinyl edition mastering has less upper end detail and less lower end depth. The Vinyl itself is crap, ticks and pops everywhere. The good thing is if you buy the vinyl you can throw it out and keep the Cd. Not to mention that they left three good songs off the LP having only 11 tracks instead of the 14 on the Cd.

Nothing to complain about here. Good dynamic sound. Good upper detail nice low end extension. Nice quiet vinyl. Everything the way it should be. I hope this helps pave the way for more Country artists to start putting their music on Vinyl, this is a fine example of how to do it right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Collection Good Sound, Feb. 1 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
While it is true this collection should have been put on a double lp beacause of it's length and that the sound is much quieter (about 7 decibals compared to average vinyl records) probably because of that, the sound quality is beautiful. The vinyl quality is very good not much in the way of surface noise. I highly reccomend this album. The symbols are much crisper and more clear than on CD. As for the previous review which made me hesitant to purchase this album I would suggest getting a more powerful amplifier or a total system upgrade.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad Sound And Bad Vinyl, Jan. 20 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This in my opinion the best album buy Elton since Songs From The West Coast. Having said that the sound on this pressing sounds terrible. I had to turn down the bass and turn up the treble to make it listenable. Very dark sounding, bass is muddy and symbols have little detail. Probably not mastered for vinyl. Speaking of vinyl this is the noisiest vinyl I have purchased on a new record for quite awhile wherever it was pressed (probably Germany) needs an overhaul.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Listen, Jan. 17 2014

Different kind of album, I like It. The sound is typical of this era, a little dark symbols are a little lost and unclear. The vinyl version is better than the CD with more uppper end clarity but still not great. Vinyl itself is acceptable but not flawless like some being produced today.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very similar to original, Jan. 17 2014

This album is again very similar to the original. The Cd was a little colder but not by much. I just wish the original recording had more bottom end it would sound so good pounding on my system.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Much Different, Jan. 17 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This reissue by Rhino is not much different from the original. I keep hoping for more but sometimes there isn't. The presentation to me is only changed by a slightly different tone. A shade warmer but not much. The CD original vinyl and this new version are all very similar. Still a very good album by Madonna.

3.0 out of 5 stars As Much As Is Possible ?, Jan. 11 2014

This is a dreadful recording by Foreigner sound wise. I Love the album but the original recording must be horrible. This is without a doubt the best representation of this but obviously not much you can do with crap. The recording engineers should be ashamed of themselves. The MFSL version is the best I've heard but they must been saying why are we doing this because the original recording sucks.

Compared to the Nirvana unplugged vinyl this was not as good. Actually the CD was a better listen which is always a bad thing. The CD of this offering had a little more depth which still was not enough but better than this Music On Vinyl edition. I don't understand how you can offer a new vinyl edition and not give the full sound it deserves. They do everything else well why not extend the lower end so true Audiophiles with big bass can hear it? Anyway That I Would Be Good and I give the thumbs down.
