Recommended reading for teens., Nov 14 2008
This book is about boys from various social groups who happened to be at the same school. It is a good, smooth read that keeps the reader interested until the end. The characters are real and well developed. Without being preachy the author does a good job educating the readers about racial and religious disparities. It's a recommended reading for all teens. I also recommend: InkspellInkheartInkdeath

Lovely, Nov 28 2007
I started reading this book to my 16 months old sun. He sits quietly through the entire book - looking at each page. We even read it a couple times making all the animals sounds. No other book I've read to him consistently keeps his interest. A must for early readers!! And for older kids I recommend the series of Why Some Cats are Rascals, Book 3

Entertaining and Educational, Nov 26 2007
I was always afraid of spiders. However, as I was reading this book for my youngest daughter (4 years old) she became fascinated with them. She wants to have a few spiders at home and treat them like pets!!! That is the surprising effect of authors' "humanizing" the spiders for the readers. My 7 years old daughter reads the book again and again for her younger sister and following the advice from Diary of a Spider they always check if there is no spider in their shoes before putting them on (they don't want to step on a spider and do any harm) In general I find the book well written and beautifully illustrated. It is also educational (spiders are not insects - insects have six legs; spiders shed their skins) and teaches children such good values as friendship, compassion, love, etc. One of the most important statements I found by the end of the book: "... if we took the time to get to know each other we would get along just fine". I highly recommend this book to all loving and responsible mothers. I only wish the book to be less expensive. A paperback edition might be a good idea for mothers with tight budget. My 10-years-old has recently become fascinated with another series diaries. They are diaries of a cat, titled "Why Some Cats are Rascals". There are three books in the series. Each new book devided into two or three parts, each one contating a different story. Also five stars.

Great reading, Nov 26 2007
I love this book! I browsed throught it at a book store and the decision to buy it was almost immediat. It is really very emotional for a child to lose his mother, so I could not put the book down until the mother was found. It reminds me of anther book titled Why Some Cats are Rascals, Book 1, in which a group of cats got lost while looking for freedom...

Be the Advocate!, Nov 21 2007
Like millions of others I am Oprah follower. I do watch the show as often as my time allows. However, I think that the magazine is many steps behind the show. Maybe it is because we are all used to do some errands when the commercials come on TV during the show. Maybe because the show does not seem to be contracted out to other celebrities to fill the void... I am simply overwhelmed by the amount of advertising in the magazine.-- What a waste of paper! I imagined that "Oprah Inc." is rich enough to give up on some extra revenues for the sake of better content... I also find that it would be more interesting to diversify the articles with some not-so-accomplished authors as Dr. Phil. Why the magazine does not bring to the daylight some great books that deserve much more attention than they are presently given? It is a big mystery to me that such a great volume like "Can We Live 150 Years?" by Dr. Tombak, remains obscure, while other authors, are being thrown in our face day by day to the point of nausea... I'd imagine that this would be a great opportunity for such media like Oprah Magazine to step up and play the role of the advocate, discoverer, promoter, or whatever you call it. Some things simply need more publicity, so why pass on the opportunity and play the same old record again and again... So much critique and still 4 stars? Hey, I criticize to improve things that I like. Oprah magazine deserves 4 stars, but it can be even better...

I recommend this book. It's a great encyclopedia. The most informative sexopedia, well-written, and it's from the expert itself. If you still have questions in your mind, this book will answer them.

Physically, emotinally, and mentally recommended. The five mindful steps for lifelong health and energy are just perfect. My mother has been following this book for a week, and she enjoys it; more energetic, no more back pain, and have fun with friends. I think it's a superb idea! For more reading about walking, breathing, sauna, etc. reach for Can We Live 150 Years

You might think that you do it right; you might think that there's no rules. But there are.. New Rules of Lifting is easy to read and follow, complete with warming up, nutrition, and meal planning. Although it's quite basic, but the resource is useful.
