The whole series is overrated/overdone, Nov 28 2004
I can't take it anymore. I can't take it that most people think that anything with "Harry Potter" in the title of the book means its the bes thing ever written. Granted, the books aren't bad. But they are NOT what everyone makes them out to be. The movies aren't bad either, but still not what all the sheep say it is. To me, the who Harry Potter series is just a bunch of kids who have never read anything in their lives, and picked up something semi-interesting and made it their God. And I can't take it when I go onto the internet, see that "Harry Potter and The Order Of THe Pheonox" is #1 on the bestselling list, and it's not even released yet. Passed Obsession? I don't think so, because then I saw this: I went onto the page for the UNRELEASED book and see that some kids have already written reviews, saying such things as: "I haven't read the book yet, but I know its going to be good." OK, now THATS passed obsession. The whole thing is overrated and over done. And I know that most people are going to critisize me about this statement. And if they do, those who aren't ignorant, will see that these people are immature obsessive people who needs to read some REAL genius works of fiction.

Excluding The Odd Boring Parts, Really Good., Nov 27 2004
The book was slow at first, but it gets better. And it went pretty smoothly for me for a little while. Then I hit a reading rut and I put the book down for a little while. Ok, I gotta get this out. Kubrick's version of the novel was really good. But it wasn't scary. I like his ending and interpretation better, but it wasn't scary. The mini series one WAS scary. It made me jump a couple times and it ACTUALLY had me on the edge of my seat. And that doesn't happen much. So, I suggest reading the book first, then the Kubrick, then the mini series. Thats the way I did it and it all worked out good. Save the best for last, even though Kubrick had the better ending. But don't listen to the people who say that the book was scary, because it wasn't. It didn't really have suspense, besides the lawn animals. That's pretty much it. But the read was good with the odd boring part throughout the book. Creative story.

My First Koontz...And It Couldn't Have Been Better, Nov 26 2004
When I first started reading this book, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed with it. The plot sounded so awesome, and I really wanted to read it. So it took me about three tries to get through the first couple pages. But then, once the killer got into the house, I was hooked. It was quite a strange book, and I found some parts unbelievable, but the brilliance I found in this book (as with THE FACE) that Koontz managed to spread a couple days into a novel. And they rarely get boring. I like how he describes the rationalization of the killer, it was really cool (although a little repetative at times). It wasn't just a "cool" read, but a good read too. I suggest getting this one. Oh, its worth it.
