5.0 out of 5 stars All time favourite!, May 10 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great sounding cd with songs and track order matching the original U.S. and Canadian record version that most of us have long known as "different" from the British release with same title.
Although still a bit confusing to casual fans this practice was not unusual at the time and so this release (along with all of the rest of the U.S. Albums) offers us The Beatles Albums we loved in the original song order and selections that sold in the multi - millions when originally released.
These titles in this format have never been offered before on CD so it is kind of a big deal if you want to have a match to the historic records as released at the time, here is your chance to get them all. Mono and stereo versions are included on one disc add to the value. Highly recommended as individual albums or treat yourself and get the complete box set.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sorry this cable may not work for you., May 10 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Price is very attractive but I couldn't get midi working with this cable in Windows 7 even after hours of trying and searching for drivers on line and reconnecting cables and many of the usual problem solving efforts such as rebooting system etc. Took a chance and purchased a "Brand" name cable for $35.00 and and it included a cd with drivers and within minutes I had everything working perfectly with the higher priced cable.
This bargain priced cable might work for you in your particular computer configuration and if so it is a great price but for me trying and failing to get this cable to work was a frustrating experience. My recommendation is you will have a better result if you pay more for a better cable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love playing again!, Jan. 22 2014
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Purchased the Rocksmith 2014 Edition for Xbox that includes the Epiphone Les Paul Jr. guitar and I love it. Guitar quality is fantastic. A real treat to learn on. Setup for me was very easy with the included guitar strap and cable. (Another reviewer said lag is a problem but this is addressed in the setup and is totally fixable).

The Rocksmith 2014 Edition includes videos, guitar playing games, and best of all, fantastic songs to play.
Lessons and videos take care of a total beginner (like me) without making you feel stupid about your guitar ability (or lack of it).
If you mess up while playing, the music slows down and when you get it right, things speed up a little at a time until you can hit it right at full speed. You will never get frustrated or bored.

The lessons and Song play screens will remind you of Guitar Hero (Yes the crowd will "Booo" you off the stage when you crash and burn but play well and the crowd will go wild!)

If you already play guitar, Rocksmith will take you to another level because the better you perform, the more advanced the lessons and playing will get.

So get ready to have fun while you learn. I highly recommend this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sarah Soars with Dream Chaser, April 26 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Dream Chaser is a wonderful "sound-escape" and this CD is very appropriately titled.

While there are memorable "singles" on this CD(do we still refer to the most strikingly memorable tunes on a cd as a single?) for me this disc holds up as a full start to finish listening pleasure.

The songs here are crafted to "drift" lightly and gently into each other without many silent cuts between the songs and so you are invited to experience the full CD. Before one song completely fades, the pulse and aura of the next song is inviting and tempting you to keep listening.

Don't think by the album title these are "sleepy" tunes. Sarah will take you from the softest whisper to a soaring and uplifting crest of fully orchestrated rock-techno edged energy and back again with grace and aplomb so enjoy the ride.

Not to diminish any of the other great songs on this album but "Angel", "One Day Like This", a new and beautiful "Ave Maria", and Sarah's version of Paul McCartney's "Venus and Mars" are highlights for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 3D conversion, April 26 2013
Waited for this release just to get the 3D version and I think it is one of the best live action 3D conversions yet. There are many "how did they get such natural looking 3D with a conversion?" moments in Jurassic Park 3D.
Yes the film is great without 3D too but when the Jurassic Park helicopter soars across the middle of my living room before it turns to enter the screen and fade into the distance as one scene in this movie does, well, that is the reason I enjoy good quality 3D so much. A very simple travel shot of a helicopter is made into a moment where you almost want to reach out to prove the silly thing is not really at arms reach. Too much fun to miss.
Lots of 3D depth to this one too. The 3D is very bright, natural and very much adds to the enjoyment of revisiting this classic adventure. Great addition for 3D fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book. Heartwarming tale of survival and forgivenes., Sept. 11 2011
This book tells it's deeply personal story in a historical framework that breathes life into what history books coldly call World War Two.
Steffie is a very bright child witnessing her "perfect" young life being blown away by events completely out of her control.
The story is tragic yet uplifting as Steffie finds the strength to forgive the failures of the adults she grew up trusting, who were powerless to stop the horrors of Hitlers' Germany rising and falling.
Steffie tells of the power of a random kindness in the face of hoplessnes.
This is the story of one who faces the darkest side of human nature and emerges as a light of forgiveness.
A very good book you won't put down once you start.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Original Recordings, Feb. 16 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a fan of CHUM 1050 from the early years, but I was not happy with this CD. The song selections and artists looked great but these are not "original recordings". This CD has songs that are "re-recorded by the original artists" and will sound different from the songs you might expect. If you want original recordings this is not the CD to buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful CD, Dec 1 2008
A Winter Symphony (CD & DVD) [Extra tracks] I hope you find a copy of the extended Cd A Winter Symphony (CD & DVD) because Sarahs version of John Lennons Happy Christmas (War is Over) is included as one of the extra tracks and for me, it is worth the price of the entire cd. Just great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Crystal Clear Encounters, March 23 2008
I loved this movie in the theatre and this Blu-Ray is as clear as my memory of the opening night at the wide screen cinema. If you have always been less than impressed with the video quality of the older versions of this classic, you will be very pleased with the sparkling clarity of this Blu-ray disc.
All of the fine details that Stephen Spielberg included in the original movie to convince you that "this is as real as a Close Encounter could be" are beautify revealed.
It is so much fun to watch Richard Dryfess literally "tear up the scenery" while he tries to deal with a UFO encounter that leaves him feeling that "something important" is going to happen! This disc is a perfect 10 of 10.

1.0 out of 5 stars "Shaky-Cam" simply ruined my enjoyment of this movie, Nov. 8 2007
Sorry to say this but I was almost nauseated by the consistent camera movement in this movie. I was totally distracted from an otherwise potentially fine movie by the heavy handed "fake" documentary camera work as so many shots needlessly bounce "away" from the subject. Even in a boardroom scene the camera pans and jumps around the room losing and regaining focus in a vain attempt to create movement and look like something exciting is happening. Once I started to get annoyed by the camera losing focus so often and tilting away from the subject this movie was ruined for me. I couldn't overcome the awareness of the cameraman trying to look spontaneous and rushed. Was an assistant especially hired to constantly push the camera operator away from the shots he needed and to jerk the lens out of focus?

If the "woops I don't know how to hold or focus a camera" style of shooting this film is not enough of a distraction, I find the editing is just as jarring, heavy handed and choppy. As soon as any image stabilizes for a second or two, the editor cuts to another shot forcing your eyeballs to bounce around trying to find something to focus on. I had to give up. I turned to ask my wife if the camera movement and editing was bothering her and she had her eyes closed. She said she was waiting for the jumpy scene to end but in Bourne Supremacy "every" scene is jumpy. For me, it was a waste of money to buy this movie on HD. Too much of the movie is intentionally blurry and I found the editing in this movie was so jumpy I had a moment when I thought my HD player had malfunctioned.
