A "Down Time" Must!, Feb 19 2013
This DVD is perfect to watch after a busy or upsetting day to bring yourself back to a peaceful place. While there is some repetition of a few scenes, it does not deter from its overall purpose and I recommend it strongly.

Everyone should read this!, Feb 19 2013
I would recommend that everyone in all walks of life and every spiritual path read this book of Eckhart Tolle. There was never a time in the history of the world that his suggestions on how to make it a better place could be more appropriate! Look at what we are doing to our world, both physically (oil sands, greed and money) and spiritually (regardless of philosophy or religion) and the need to find the way out of it must be addressed. Eckhart Tolle explains how each one of us can do our part to bring about change in a completely non-judgemental way. My copy has notations on nearly every page! and I will be referring back to it many times!

Top Notch Performance, Sep 20 2012
An excellent addition to any opera DVD collection. Jose Van Dam is incredible in his delivery of this role and is so believable in every aspect. His mature, but very strong, voice portrays the pathos of the quest in a way that a younger singer could not do. The set design is sparse but adequate and in no way detracts from the performance, helping the audience to feel the emotions of the singers. A definite 'must have' in my opinion!

Something different for PD James, and it's great!, Jan 23 2012
P.D. James has always been one of my favourite authors and her newest book is a delightful change from her regular characters. Her prologue, to review what we know of the Darcy Family, was perfect - enough to remind us of the characters but not too much to be boring. Then she carries on with an excellent who-dunnit that comes up to her past standards. I couldn't put the book down it was so good! And she kept us guessing right to the end! You won't be disappointed with this book!

Excellent Canadian Author, Nov 21 2011
Mark Zuehlke is, in my opinion, the best Canadian author writing about WWII and his World War II Series is outstanding! His accuracy and attention to detail makes each book an adventure in learning exactly what happened in each battle. His ability to bring out the human factor from interviewing the men who were actually there has made his books one-of-a-kind. My sister and I have a particular interest as our Dad was in the RCE serving in Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium and Holland, and we have learned so much more than we could ever have imagined. In addition, this is a Canadian writing about Canadians - a refreshing change from the American point of view so often offered with other authors and films. I highly recommend all his books. You will not be disappointed!

Highly Recommended!, Oct 18 2011
This is an outstanding book either for the beginner seeking to identify birds for the first time or the long-time bird enthusiast. The pictures are very realistic and the best I have encountered. In addition there is a disc with birdsong to study. You won't be disappointed with it! I was told about this book by a volunteer in the bird section of the Royal BC Museum in Victoria. It was his recommendation that caused me to purchase and I certainly confirm his opinion!

Recommended Christmas Show, Sep 20 2011
My sister and I are big fans of Celtic Thunder, but apart from that, this is a great Christmas music show of a more traditional nature, comprised of some Christmas classics as well as popular numbers. It is wonderful to see a more gentle approach to the Christmas season. Get this and enjoy! for the whole family too!

Top Notch Nostalgia, July 12 2011
Wow! I've been waiting years for this to be available! I saw this at the movie theatre when I was really young and it will be one of the ones I view regularly. If good, old musicals are your interest, don't miss out on this one!

Good to add to your DVD collection, July 12 2011
I bought this on the recommendation of a family member who had previously seen the movie on television. The story moves along logically and I found it to be worthwhile viewing, being a more sophisticated story on the lines of Touched by an Angel, except of course, he doesn't have the opportunity to come back and get his act together, which is a more realistic approach. I recommend it for more than one viewing as more is learned each time you see it.

Excellent Vegetarian Cookbook, Nov 3 2010
I have always completely trusted recipes by Canadian Living and have never been disappointed. Having recently introduced vegetarian meals to our diet, I am pleased with everything I have tried so far. The meals are tasty, nutrious, and easy to prepare. I recommend this volume very highly!
