5.0 out of 5 stars as I go along from bird to bird.............., June 12 2002
Everything one needs to know for birding from a non-professional type birder person. Has various sections on different types of behavior and covers things that are not usually found in the "field books". It is not a cover to cover book, but I use it as a reference as I go along from bird to bird sightings........

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Good Down Home Music.........., May 2 2002
This review is from: Headin' Home (Audio CD)
Knowing the Family for many years from Las Vegas, we sat out in our sleeping bags and would listen, with just a handfull of other folks in the audience in those days to listen to some good pickin'. One or two others who could play would show up and we would have ourselves quite a foot stompin' time. My only regret is that I could not play with them. A friendly family band who will play till the cows come home, and we never got tired of listening. This album consists of pieces of good time, old time, stompin' your foot music. I salute their hard work. Thanks for the good times and the good music while your "Headin'Home".......

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Bird Note Book, April 15 2002
As a black and white companion to the National Geographic bird book it is great. This note book gives you room to write and draw on the species of birds. One can use this book as a "life list" and record your sightings, locations, etc., into this. It is amazing to sit down with this book years later and review your past findings. This book goes along exactly with the bird book and I usually keep both with me at all times for recording and identifying.........

Twelve Thousand Years: American Indians in Maine
Twelve Thousand Years: American Indians in Maine
by Bruce J. Bourque
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, just Outstanding, April 1 2002
A book recommended to me by an archaeologist in Maine. I am not disappointed. The language and grammer is a bit above the lay person but with close study, you can catch on, as all is explained. A well written book covering the history with, and associated with, the Maine Native Americans. It just touches upon the associated peripheral subjects in history during each period, since volumes could be devoted to the complete history sorrounding the natives of Maine. It begins with the Ice Age and goes from there. Lots of archaeology and several hypothesis included. For anybody seriously interested in what Maine has done with their archaeology on Native Americans, I recommend this book whole-heartedly.........

5.0 out of 5 stars Exhaustive, April 1 2002
A very good manual of information gathered on Native American culture. It has various chapters devoted to just plain loads of facts and figures and addresses and information on the North American Native Indian. I do not use it to read from cover to cover, but use it as a reference manual. I get lost in the amount of information.......

Eyewitness North American Indian
by Dorling Kindersley
Edition: Hardcover
25 used & new from CDN$ 0.31

4.0 out of 5 stars Glossy, thin and large two, April 1 2002
As with the other "Eyewitness" books on various subjects, this book is also endowded with outstanding photography. The information is still minimal and based on the more popular material most folks are familiar with with the Native American. A good starter book for the yonger reader looking for some information on our American Natives............

4.0 out of 5 stars Glossy, thin and large, April 1 2002
This review is from: Eyewitness Archeology (Hardcover)
Minimal information but minimal information with excellent photographs. Highlightes some of the basic information on some of the more popular "digs". Probably more suited for the yonger reader or a reader completely ignorant of the field of archaeology. A good starter book.......

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, encyclopaedic, good reference manual, April 1 2002
Purchased to study projectile points. I was not disapointed with the packed information and photos on this subject. Used as well, as a price guide for collectors, I none the less use it as a reference manual. It lists point artifacts from each part of the country broken down in groups of states. It then shows most of what is common for that area as far as shapes, sizes, etc. It is a good guide for the beginner to learn both projectile shapes and nomenclature. I carry it as a supplement to other books on archaeology and prehistoric American Native studies.............

Field Guide To Bigfoot, Yeti, & Other Mystery Primates Worldwide
Field Guide To Bigfoot, Yeti, & Other Mystery Primates Worldwide
by Loren Coleman
Edition: Paperback

2.0 out of 5 stars Bigfoot, Bigmistake, March 12 2002
Although attempting to be a pack-along "Field Guide" for any encounter with an unknown creature, you suddenly realize that most of the contents of this "Field Guide" is reaching for information that just is not available. If though, you are on a camping trip and wish to wow your younger audience, this could be your guide. It is even illustrated with black and white line drawings with what is described in the descriptions. To be blunt, more a field guide for someone in the past few centuries than any actual case evidence. I had been looking for more theory and evidence than just meer far reaching speculations. I hope to find another book on this subject that will deal with hard factual evidence to scrutinize, rather than just more old conjecture.
