5.0 out of 5 stars my favorite of the first 7, July 12 2004
Personally this was my favorite book of the series. It didn't really focus on Richard and by that I mean he was in like the last two chapters or so. I found this to be a refreshing way to explore more of the world that Mr. Goodkind has created without having to put Richard into yet more danger that he can either evaporate with he's war wizardness or use his infallible reflexes and swordsmanship to destroy. Not to say that this one wasn't as gruesome as the others in fact it was probably the most vulgar book I've ever read. But hey that's part of the appeal of the series even if it is more than slightly scaring. I think that while the series also becomes more... well to be honest preachy it also builds up the excitement of the series. I for one can't wait to read the final book in this series if there is ever one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Awsome, Dec 28 2003
let me just say that this is quite possibly the best RPG out there. yes better that all the final fantasys and pretty much every ohter game out there. the only game i would consider to be on this level would be chrono trigger but still.
now on to the reason for the awsomeness, point 1 the plot is quite possibly the most complex and enjoyable out there. I honestly think that it could be made into a movie.
Point 2 the trinity sight system. this just adds to the amazing plott letting you view the plot from all three of the main charaters and how this changes what in fact is going on.
Point 3 its darn pretty the backrounds and the charcters are just amazing.
Point 4 you can have more than 108 playable characters. yes more than. All of them with there own special powers and personalities and jobs. such as a spy a blacksmith a rancher a chef a journalist and a gambler...
