4.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!!!!!!!!!!, Feb. 27 2004
This review is from: Real Ambassadors (Audio CD)
At first with the opener, "Everybody's Coming" I was shell-shocked. I was puzzled. I thought can they make the end of the album without making a revelation or pulling it off. I actually found this album thoroughly enjoyable. It is a remarkable sensational unique album.

5.0 out of 5 stars FAR OUT!!!!!!!!!!!, Feb. 27 2004
This review is from: Brubeck a La Mode (Audio CD)
This album is great and swings. I like the clarinet. Even though I like Paul Desmond's smooth alto sax, it was nice to here a different horn man in The Brubeck Group. Joe Morello doesn't get much solo space, but his snare and bass accents are cool. I like his Afro Cuban rythm on one song. This album is great. IT seemed to me that BIll Smith was going progressive and dragging Dave's quartet with him, as my title was, Far Out!!!!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT WORTH IT!!!, Feb. 27 2004
I admit it, this is a good collection of Brubeck's works through the years, but it is not worth it. Just buy every album seperately. You'll be better off that way. This album is just a scam so someone can make a few bucks off it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD SWINGIN' FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Feb. 27 2004
This review is from: 1963 In A Crowd Live (Audio CD)
This is the first MJQ album I ever bought. I haden't yet herd of their quiet classical side. You can't even tell with all this down right swingin' music. Sherrif is great. A thing to listen for is how John Lewis gets more and more interactive with the audience starting with anouncing I should Care as Who Should Care. Lewis is quiet up until that. Then every song, he banters with audince a little. Something which they were known not doing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Two Degreese Loud Vioces, Two Degreese Quiet Music!!!, Feb. 27 2004
This album is not a master piece. The music didn't touch me, that is what I even herd of the album with all the rude people talking while this legendary band preformed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Connie's Settlin' IN!!!!!!!!!!!!, Feb. 27 2004
This review is from: Pyramid (Audio CD)
The music on this album is absolutely great. It starts off with a fast short swingin tune, typical of MJQ albums. Pyramid swings in 3/4 time, and so do others. It does get boring at the end.(the last two songs) I also feel that this is the first session date that drummer Connie Kay felt more comfurtable in the studio, as he opens up more and plays the skins a little bit more harder, but still keeping the restraint.
