Another Good Film, Feb 23 2003
Disney and PIXAR strikes gold yet again with "Monster's Inc.", the story of what happens in the world behind the closet door. There, you'll find Monstropolis, a place where creatures of all shapes and sizes live everyday normal lives, where all the energy in the city comes from screams, and where human children are considered toxic. The plot is set in motion when a big, blue monster named Sully brings a little girl named Boo into the monster world and turns it upside-down. Like in "Toy Story", PIXAR brings a nostalgic twist to the film which makes it not only a "kiddie movie", but equally enjoyable to grown-ups who remember when they thought there were monsters in their closet. The DVD also features an assortment of special bonus features, most notably deleted scenes, art galleries, theatrical trailers. and a full version of the original story concept for the film which only somewhat resembles the final product. In all, I would defiantly recommend this DVD, but it does not quite compare to their previous "Toy Story" film

Great CD, Feb 23 2003
Christian teen pop group Jump5 defiantly started their career on a good note with their self-titled first album. The CD is applaudable alone for their talent and catchy music, but just as admirable is the message they send through their music. The themes of hope, faith, love, and truly knowing God make this CD all the more special. Each of the ten tracks on the CD are fun and extremely entertaining. "Spinnin' Around", the album's first track, sets a good tone for the album and other highlights include the catchy and inspiring "Change a Heart, Change a World", the sweet and compassionate "Wish That I Could Read You're Mind", and the enjoyable and peppy "Tell Me Why" just to name a few. The CD also features two extra tracks: the infectious "Start Jumpin" and a beautiful remake of "God Bless the U.S.A." This is defiantly at CD worth picking up and would recommend this to anyone looking for some truly good music.

Great Disney Resource, Feb 22 2003
This encyclopedia by Disney archivist Dave Smith has everything you would want to know about Disney's films, theme parks, television shows, and more. At a length of over 600 pages, this book overflows with information, most of which one might wonder why anyone would need to know. Questions such as "what Disney film was released on October 3, 1927?", "what Disney film stared Sean Conery before he landed the role of James Bond?", and "what stage show played at Walt Disney World's Tomorrowland Theater starting in 1984?" are all answered in this book, along with literally thousands of others. This book is a great resource for any Disney fan and a fascinating look at the evolution of the Walt Disney Company.

You'll Love Lucy, Feb 22 2003
More than half a century after it first premiered, "I Love Lucy" is still as humorous as the day they first aired. Each of the ten episodes included in the collection were voted the ten best of the series through an online poll and each showcases the comedic and musical talents of each of the primary cast members (Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and Willaim Frawly). Lucy, however, is undoubtedly the star of the collection. Her classic comedy shines through in each episode, whether she is getting intoxicated from too much Vitametavegamin or wrapping candy from a speedy convayer belt. The set also includes many more memorable Lucy moments including their visit to Hollywood ("Harpo Marx" and "LA at Last"), their European Tour (the infamous grape-stomping episode), and Lucy's eternal quest to be in Ricky's shows ("The Ballet" and "Lucy does at TV Commercial"). This collection is sure to be a hit with any Lucy fan and a great way to introduce a new generation to the classic antics of Lucy Ricardo.

Good CD, Feb 22 2003
The A-Teens are back in high energy album that is sure to please. The album is med up of twelve tracks including many written by some of the members of the group. My favorite, however, is "I Can't Help Falling in Love". Who wouldn't love a pop-ed up Elvis Ballad? Other favorites include their three actual ballads "In the Blink of an Eye", "Singled Out", and "Hi and Goodbye". Each are beautiful and have a sweet sense to them. The catchy and faster tempoed "Closer to Perfection" is another definate highlight to the CD. Most of the other songs are good, but somewhat forgettable with the exception of remake of Alice Cooper's "School's Out", which didn't seem like it needed to be relived in the first place. All in all, not a bad album and worth picking up.

A Great CD, Feb 22 2003
If you are looking for a CD that has fun music, a good beat, and a great message, then you're probably looking for Jump5. The Christian pop group is made up of Libby, Lesley, Brittany, Brandon, and Chris; five teens who all have incredible singing and dancing talents. This, their second CD, includes eight songs and three remixes, each of which are wonderful. The first track, "All I Can Do", is a peppy dance song that is, in my opinion, the best song on the CD and becomes a tough act to follow for the rest of the tracks. The CD's ten other tracks do just fine though, especially the catchy "Throw Your Hands Up", "Diamond" a somwat slower song with it's positive message, and the inspiring ballad "Angel in My Heart" just to name a few. The remixes are also just as good as the rest of the songs and, while they are still songs previolusly on the album, they are just different enough from their originals to include what makes the songs enjoyable in the first place, but still enjoyable. I actually enjoy their remix of the song "Joyride" on the CD than the original version. In short, "All the Time" is defiantly at the top of my list of recommended CDs, especially for young teens and "tweens" looking for great music with a great Christian themes.

Happily Ever After, Feb 21 2003
You would think that the story of Cinderella should probably end with "And they lived happily ever after". Leave it to Disney to prove that wrong. Dreams Come True is a surprisingly entertaining collection of three stories of Cinderella adjusting to life in the Castle. In the film's tales , Cinderella 'modernizes' the royal policies (somewhat resistant of the late Princess Diana), one of her mice friends finds that being human isn't all it's cracked up to be, and Cinderella's stepsister Anastasia finds love. All in all, the music is not spectacular but works for the film, and the animation for the large part is not the best of the direct-to-video films Disney has produced. Despite its short comings, Cinderella II is still an enjoyable film. It seems to work so well that one may wonder if more films about Cinderella in the Castle are on the way. I would recommend this video especially for young Princess fans or anyone who ever wondered what happened after happily ever after.

Under the Sea... Again, Feb 21 2003
Another of the string of animated sequels to some of Disney's most popular films, The Little Mermaid II is defiantly one of Disney's most uninspired films. The story revolves around Melody, the daughter of Ariel (the original film's "little mermaid"). Melody love the sea, but is not permitted by her parents to ever visit the sea after she was almost kidnapped by the Sea Witch Ursula's evil sister Morgana, seeking revenge the demise of her sister. If the plot of the young daughter who was forbidden to be part of the world she love sounds familiar, it should. It's the same plot of the first film turned upside-down. In addition to a weak plot, the songs are forgettable (and, at times, painful) and the characters are uninteresting, including not only the film's returning characters who are now meer shadows of their former selfs, but also the new additions such as Morgana's shark-turned-guppy henchman and Timon and Pumbaa clones Tip and Dash. All in all, it's not worth the time watching it unless you have small children who love Ariel and friends.

Fairest One of All, Feb 21 2003
Walt Disney's first feature length animated film is just as much of a classic today as it was when it first premiered in 1937. The story of the beautiful princess taken in by seven kindly dwarfs in order to protect her from her evil stepmother, the Queen, is a magical adventure that unfolds almost as if it is a fairytale book that has come to life (which, in a way, it is). The memorable characters and songs are sure to make this a favorite of every member of the family. The DVD complements the enchanting film with a virtual journey into Snow White's World guided by the magic mirror which is found on disk two. This includes interactive environments, galleries of artwork, and extras such as deleted scenes, rejected concepts, and vintage audio and films which any Disney fan or film historian will find fascinating. All in all, a wonderful addition to any DVD collection.

Tale as Old As Time, Feb 20 2003
Of all of the Disney films created in the past quarter century, Beauty and the Beast would have to be my favorite. The story revolves around the romance between Belle, a beautiful bookworm who was thought of as odd in her provincial French village, and a self-centered Prince-turned-Beast who could only be lifted from his spell by learning to love another and earn her love in return. Along the way, there are dozens of wonderful characters including the Beast's lovable servants-turned household objects and Belle's brutish suitor Gaston who will do anything to make her his wife. The film's score and music and both beautiful and deserving of the Academy Awards they won. The film is truly a classic, so it's surprising that it can be improved for this Special Edition DVD. Three versions of the film including the fascinating Work in Progress edition and 10th anniversary edition with a wonderful new sequence added into the film. Along with the film, the DVD also includes behind the scenes documentaries, galleries of art used in the film, alternate versions of "Be Our Guest" and the Transformation scenes, a couple of wonderful music videos including a new version of the title song by pop group Jump5, and a number of games among other extras. This DVD is truly a must-own for Disney fans and a wonderful addition to any DVD collection.
