This review is from: No Greater Love (Paperback)
I was pleasantely surprised that this book contains quotes, interviews and writtings from Mother Teresa herself and not someone else's account of her life. This book is truly inspiring. There are many profound messages in this book. My personal favorite is the message regarding "freedom from self". Once you stop worrying about yourself, you may be able to dedicate yourself to God and others. This is a refreshing message in a society where everything is about me, myself and I. There is also a wonderful chapter on prayers and giving.

Mother Teresa is a great example of a true follower of Christ. We can certainly learn a lot from her example.

5.0 out of 5 stars When the shoe fits..., Feb. 5 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a well written and well organized book showing point-by-point how the biblical end time prophecies compare to the Islamic end time prophecies. It is shockingly undeniable that the Islam end time scenario is the negative mirrored image of Christianity, where as the biblical antichrist fits the description of the Islamic Mahdi-savior. Many would be surprised to discover that Islam also expects the return of Jesus, only of course that Jesus will be a muslim, coming back to deny that he is the Son of God and assist the Mahdi in a war against the infidels (Mainly Jews and Christians).

I will recommend this book to anyone interested in eschatology.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book on eschatology, Feb. 5 2013

This book gives an overview on how Islam could play a role in the end time scenario. There is an interesting chapter on how the root of the conflict may have originated as far back as Abraham. The author presents solid arguments and examples to support his points. I would recommend this book to someone just starting a study on eschatology. It is very easy to read for anyone.

If you prefer to get to the point without too many references from the bible or Koran, this book is for you. If you wish a more in-depth study of the suject with many quotes directly from the bible and the Koran, refer to "God's War on Terror" by Walid Shoebat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive!, Jan. 4 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"For God or for tyranny" is a book showing that in nations where the word of the biblical God is not followed, evil attempts to prevail. This book contains an impressive amount of research and historical facts. There is certainly a lot to learn from history since it has tendency to repeat itself. Also in the present time, we all believe in some type of ideology. You may be liberal, evolutionist, pro-choice, environmentalist, Muslim, new age, etc.. The author exposes how some of these ideologies may have originated from paganism.

We are humans and therefore form opinions. We are free to choose a camp..but choose wisely. This book may help you make an informed decision. If not, you may at least discover a different point of view.

I recommend this book to anyone who wishes to deepen their knowledge of pagan symbols, how it played a role in history and how it still influences us today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could it be?, Sept. 10 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book presents compelling arguments as to why the second coming of Christ or the start of tribulation could occur between 2012-2015. I like that the author does not present his arguments as facts but as possibilies. Indeed, no one knows. All we can do is watch for the signs. Could all the signs listed in this book be merely a coincidence? It makes you wonder. This book is well written, interesting and easy to read. I would recommend this book to everyone.

This review is from: Jesus of Nazareth (DVD)
This movie is the most comprehensive movie of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that I have ever seen. Just over 6 hours it is very long but well worth it. It is meant to be 6x1 hr episodes. Watch in segments and enjoy. Truly a classic.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and bad, Jan. 26 2009
The main message in this book as I remember it is:

If a situation is not immoral, unhealthy or life threatening, let it be!
If your kids screw up, give them responsibility of the problem by letting find a solution for themselves.

This is good advice indeed. Teach the kids how to be responsible for their actions and hopefully, make better choices.

The author divides families in 3 categories. The Jellyfish and brickwall families have the wrong approach according to this book. I did not think that it was useful to tell us how the jellyfish and brickwall parents will react to situations in every chapters. After a few examples, you get the point. Repeating how the Jellyfish and brickwall parents would react to a situation over and over again is bothersome. The backbone families have the right approach. This is what parents are intested in. The book could have been much shorter by skipping the repetition.

Too much repetition but good message overall. Still worth reading.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, Jan. 26 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this book after reading the good reviews and was extremely disappointed. There are blank pages for you to fill a behavior recovery plan for each of the 38 difficult behaviors. These blank pages are "book filler" since there is not enough material in the book itself. One example showing how to write a corrective plan would have been enough. The parents could make copies of it as required.

I also found the tips to be little help. You will find 4 to 5 very short tips per behavior. The same tips are repeated several times in the book. Most common tip given for ALL of the bad beheviors is advising you to "make a corrective plan". It does not actually give you a plan. Not worth reading from front to back.
