Buying From Amazon.ca Marketplace SellersSellers are independent sellers who offer a variety of new, used, refurbished and collectible merchandise. If the seller's items are not fulfilled by Amazon, then your order will be fulfilled directly by the seller, who will also handle all their customer service. Payment for your order will be processed immediately, instead of when the order is shipped. Amazon will disburse your funds to the seller but never pass along your payment information. The vast majority of seller orders are covered by the A-to-z Guarantee. If you wish to sell items, please visit our Selling at Amazon.ca Help pages.
Ordering Basics
Paying for your orderAll sellers register to sell on Amazon, so you can use the Amazon.ca shopping cart and ordering process to buy from third-party sellers and pay for your order using the payment methods listed on your Amazon.ca account. Payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Amazon.ca gift certificates already on your account or entered at the time of purchase. You should never pay a seller directly outside of the Amazon.ca ordering process. Amazon disburses funds to your seller from your credit card but never passes along credit card information to the seller. Additionally, our A-to-z Guarantee covers you for purchases of up to CDN$2,500. Shipping Rates and TimesPlease visit our Marketplace Shipping Help page for more information about shipping rates and times for Marketplace orders. You can also click on the third party seller's name on the product detail page to visit their storefront and see shipping policies and prices. Tip: To see shipping charges for a specific item or order, place the item(s) in your cart and proceed to the Order Summary page. You'll see shipping charges and don't need to finalize your order right away. You can always continue shopping and items will remain in your cart; your order isn't complete until you click the Place your order button. Contacting Your SellerBefore Order: From the product listing, click the seller's name. You'll be taken to their At a Glance page where you'll find information about the seller and a "Contact this seller" link. The seller will respond to you via e-mail. After Order: Visit the Order Summary by clicking on "View order" in Your Account and click on the Problem with this order? button. Then click the Contact Seller button to send an e-mail. If you have shipping questions or need to cancel your order, the seller should be able to help you understand the options at the time you send your message. Sending and Receiving AttachmentsYou can send an attachment by replying to a seller e-mail through your usual e-mail client, the "Contact Seller" button on the order in Your Account (www.amazon.ca/your-account), or when replying to a seller under "View Your E-mails with Sellers" in Your Account. The following document formats are supported:
Sellers will receive the attachment through their e-mail client and may also optionally view it through the Amazon Buyer-Seller Messaging Service. If a seller sent you an attachment, you will receive it through your email client. You may also go to Your Account and click on the link to "View Your E-mails with Sellers." Look for messages that have a paper clip icon--those messages have an attachment. Note: Amazon.ca reserves the right to delete or remove any attachment containing inappropriate content. Amazon.ca reserves the right to decide what it considers inappropriate content. Buyer and Seller LimitsTo protect customer accounts, we limit the number and dollar amount of third-party orders placed on Amazon. These "velocity limits" are applied to both buyers and sellers. Your buyer purchasing limit is set at CDN$2,747 for any single transaction from an Amazon.ca Marketplace seller. Orders that exceed this limit are automatically cancelled by our system, and we send the buyer a notification e-mail. Seller limits may vary by seller, and we cannot reveal specific velocity amounts. If a seller is unable to accept payment when you place your order, the order will be cancelled and we will notify you by e-mail. Your credit card will not be charged. At that time, you may wish to place a new order with a different seller, or wait and replace the order with the same seller. Our Role in Amazon.ca Marketplace Seller OrdersBecause we are not directly involved in completing sales arranged with Amazon.ca Marketplace sellers, you will need to contact the seller directly to:
We do not contact customers on behalf of either sellers or buyers and we do not mediate disputes. We do, however, offer our A-to-z Guarantee in the event that you cannot reach an arrangement with your seller. International OrdersIf a seller offers international shipping, the listing details for the item will read, "International shipping available." You must be located in a country covered by the Amazon Marketplace program to purchase from an Amazon.ca Marketplace seller. If your country is not yet covered, you can still purchase the item directly from Amazon.ca. The following countries are currently supported:
