Baby

Baby Products are only eligible to be listed in New condition on Amazon.ca.
  • New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened product in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included. The original manufacturer's warranty, if any, should still apply, with details of the warranty included in the conditions comments.

Books

Collectible books must be signed, out-of-print, or otherwise unique--you can detail why your copy is collectible.

The following describes our guidelines for book conditions:

  • New: A brand-new, unused, unread copy in perfect condition.
  • Like New: An apparently unread copy in perfect condition. Dust cover is intact, with no nicks or tears. Spine has no signs of creasing. Pages are clean and are not marred by notes or folds of any kind. Book may contain a remainder mark on an outside edge but this should be noted in listing comments.
  • Very Good: A copy that has been read, but remains in excellent condition. Pages are intact and are not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
  • Good: Has been read, but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (including dust cover, if applicable). The spine may show signs of wear. Pages can include limited notes and highlighting, and the copy can include "From the library of" labels.
  • Acceptable: A readable copy. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (the dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but the notes cannot obscure the text.
  • Unacceptable: Moldy, badly stained, or unclean copies are not acceptable, nor are copies with missing pages or obscured text. Books that are distributed for promotional use only are prohibited. This includes advance reading copies (ARCs) and uncorrected proof copies.

Be sure to describe your books in an accurate manner. An accurate product description increases buyer satisfaction, helps sellers build a loyal customer base, and ensures positive feedback ratings. If a book has an obvious cosmetic flaw, we strongly encourage the seller to note this in the comments field. The presence of a remainder mark should always be noted in the comments field. We do not permit sales of advance reading copies and uncorrected proofs.

Music

Collectible music must be signed, out-of-print, or otherwise unique--you can detail why your copy is collectible.

  • New: A brand-new, unused, unopened CD or cassette in perfect condition.
  • Like New: An apparently unopened CD or cassette in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The jewel case or cassette case has no scratches or scuffing. The liner notes, inclusions, and/or sleeve are in perfect condition. The CD or tape itself is unmarked, with no sign of wear. CD or cassette case may have a remainder cut-out on the spine but this should be noted in listing comments.
  • Very Good: Has been played, but remains in great condition and plays perfectly. The jewel case/cassette case may show limited signs of wear, as may the liner notes and inclusions.
  • Good: Plays perfectly but has clear signs of wear. The jewel case or cassette case is undamaged, and original liner notes are in good, unmarked condition. The CD, cassette, or packaging may have identification markings from its owner.
  • Acceptable: Plays perfectly, but is otherwise the worse for wear. The jewel case or cassette case may be damaged, and the liner notes may be marked (but remain complete and legible). The CD, cassette, or packaging may have identification markings from its owner.
  • Unacceptable: Music that is in any way unplayable or recorded over is not acceptable, nor are recordings not manufactured by the copyright holder, including recopied media in any form. Additionally, promotional media is prohibited for sale through Amazon.ca Marketplace.

Be sure to describe your CDs and cassettes in an accurate manner. An accurate product description increases buyer satisfaction. If an item has an obvious cosmetic flaw, we strongly encourage sellers to make a note within the comments field. The presence of remainder markings or cut-outs should always be noted in the comments field. Sale of recopied media is prohibited. CD's with surface scratches may be listed as Good or Acceptable, subject to the above guidelines, as long as the quality of the playback is not affected.

Please note that if you are listing a club edition of an audio CD against the detail page for the standard edition, use the listing comments to indicate that your item is a club edition. For more about listing club editions of audio CDs, please see our Listing Rules.
