Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card

How to apply

Application process: Visit the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card page and click the "Sign Up" button. You must be a Canadian resident and have reached the age of majority in your province or territory of residence.

Approval: Instant use of the card on Amazon.ca after approval2.

If you were not instantly approved, you'll need to wait until your application has completed the approval process -- usually within 2 to 4 weeks after applying. Due to the time it takes to process applications, please wait at least 2 weeks after applying before inquiring about the status of your application. Neither Amazon.ca nor Chase will be able to speed up the processing of an Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card application that was selected for review. JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A. ("Chase") is the issuer of the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card.

How is the Sign-Up Offer Applied to My Account?

An Amazon.ca Gift Certificate will instantly be loaded into your Amazon.ca account upon the approval of your credit card application.1&2

How to use the card

Starting out

You can use your new Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card on Amazon.ca as soon as you are approved. We'll add the card to your Amazon.ca account as a default payment method and send you an e-mail message with instructions so you can start shopping right away.

While we make it possible for customers to use the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card for Amazon.ca purchases upon approval, you will not receive the complete card number or be able to use the card for purchases outside Amazon.ca until your card arrives in the mail.

Getting your card

Customers typically receive their Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card in the mail approximately 2 weeks after being approved. Once you receive and activate the physical card, you may begin using it anywhere your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card is accepted.

Using your card on Amazon.ca

Upon approval, we automatically add your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card to your Amazon.ca account as a payment method. You can use your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card for purchases on Amazon.ca right away as long as your orders are shipped to an address already on your Amazon.ca account.

  1. Log in to the Amazon.ca customer account that you used while signing up for the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card and add items to your shopping cart.
  2. Select a shipping address that was listed on your Amazon.ca account at the time your application was approved.
  3. Select the radio button that appears next to the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card in the payment section.

As a security measure, if you wish to ship your order to a new address, then you must first wait until you receive the physical card in the mail and then enter it as a payment method.

Troubleshooting

The card isn't listed as a payment option.

There are a few reasons why you may not see your new Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card appearing as a payment option in checkout:

  • For your protection, the order must be shipped to one of the addresses listed on your account at the time your application was approved.
  • If you have more than one Amazon.ca account, you may be logged to into a different account than the one associated with your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card. Please try logging into another account. If you can't remember your password, please e-mail us.
  • You may not have been instantly approved. Please allow 2-4 weeks for a decision on your application.

I'm being asked to enter the card number but don't have it yet.

For your protection, any order you place before you receive your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card in the mail must be shipped to one of the addresses already on your Amazon.ca account at the time you applied. If you attempt to enter a new address or even retype an existing address as a new entry, the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card will not be listed as a payment option and you will have to wait for the card to arrive.

Additionally, as a security measure, Amazon.ca may require that you have your complete credit card number (which can only be found on your physical credit card) to make certain purchases. Amazon.ca customer service associates do not have access to your complete credit card number and cannot provide it to you before your physical card arrives.

Changing the shipping address at checkout

  1. During checkout, click the "Ship to this address" button for any address listed in the "Choose a shipping address" section.
  2. If you are already on the page titled "Please review and submit your order," click the "Change" button next to "Shipping to" and choose a pre-existing address.
  3. After choosing an eligible address, click the "Change" button in the Payment Method section and select the Amazon.ca Visa from the listed payment methods.

If you choose a listed address added after you applied for the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card, you will be asked to enter the full credit card number.

Make a Payment

You can make a payment to your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card, using one of the following methods:

  • Online via your bank's online banking website. Please ensure your payment is made to the correct payee: Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card.
  • At your bank's branch, ABM, or via telephone if offered by your bank.
  • By mail. For mail payments, please make cheques payable to JPMorgan Chase, N.A. and mail to:

Please allow three to five days for the payment to be applied to your credit card account.

If you are paying by mail, please remember to:

  1. Enclose your cheque or money order. No cash or foreign currency please.
  2. Include your account number on the front of your cheque or money order.
  3. Please don't staple or tape your cheque to the remittance stub.
  4. Enclose the remittance stub with your payment.
  5. Allow five to seven days for delivery to ensure your payment is received on time.

When will I receive my billing statement?

Chase will send you a statement for your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card on a monthly basis (subject to the exceptions described in your Cardmember Agreement). If you wish to view your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa account activity online, register for online account access at www.chase.ca/amazon after you have received your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa card in the mail.

Earning Points

With the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card, you earn 2 reward points per $1 of eligible purchases made at Amazon.ca (including digital downloads) and 1 point per $1 of all other eligible purchases3.

Redeeming Points

Every 2000 points earned are automatically redeemed for a $20 statement credit.

Checking Your Amazon.ca Reward Points Balance

You can see your Amazon.ca rewards point balance as of your last statement by logging into your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card online account at www.chase.ca/amazon, and checking the "Rewards Points Summary Section." Your reward point balance will also be visible on your Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card monthly statement.

Resolving Your Complaint

Step 1: Contact our Cardmember Services Staff

If you have a concern, please call our Cardmember Services staff using the number on the back of your card. If you do not have your card nearby, please visit the Customer Service section on www.chase.ca for our contact numbers. If the Cardmember Services staff is not able to resolve your concern, your concern will be referred to a Supervisor.
