I debated whether to only give two stars, but decided on three because I really do find it useful for organizing my utensils. It takes up a lot more countertop space than a regular utensil holder, but it's great having "tubs" of various heights and widths to store utensils. That means smaller, shorter items like a vegetable peeler or set of measuring spoons don't get lost and are easily accessible.
The reason I took off stars is because the acrylic scratches easily. In fact, it even arrived scratched! I've only ever washed it by hand -- since it's see-through, you can see every speck of dust and dirt -- and have always put items into the Tubby gently, but the tallest one now… Read more
I've only used this box grater half a dozen times, putting it in the dishwasher after each use. The cutting edges are sharp, but the plastic that holds the metal in place is already starting to crack. Considering how pricey this box grater is, I'm really disappointed that it's already falling apart. Fortunately, I still have my old all-metal box grater still kicking around in one of the cupboards because the Microplane box grater is headed for the trash.
This scoop colander is a really convenient size, holding as much as a small bowl. The scoop is roughly 6" long, 4.75" wide and 2" deep at its outermost edges, with the handle adding another 7.5" length.
I don't deep-fry food, so I've only used it for scooping food out of boiling water but it works well and still looks as good as new after several runs through the dishwasher. The holes are big enough that water can escape freely, but small enough to scoop up peas.
This is definitely too big to fit in my utensil jar and takes up quite a bit of room in the drawer, so the hole in the handle is handy for hanging the scoop colander up.
